@MartinSLewis @bbc5live My gas and electricity is fixed till this August 2023, but today I received an email stating they are upping my DD on 1st April by nearly £60....I'm a bit confused... I thought your DD doesn't change when on fixed rate
This is even though I am £240 in credit on my account. 🤔🤔

OCT cap prediction UP 64% (so £3,244/yr on typical bills)
JAN cap prediction UP 4% (so £3,363/yr)

The current ratios are in place for a reason - to safeguard children. Making them any higher would be unsafe an unmanageable. I think parents would rather pay a little more money and know their children were getting the best, and safest possible care.
