This is unbelievably sad news 😔 Danya was a great mentor. His love and passion for chess was unmatched. My condolences to his family and friends. Rest in peace.

In most companies, the more senior folks get, the less they work.

Türkiye'de çalışan her 4 kişiden 1'i haftada 50 saatten fazla çalışıyor.

@jrdntgn What if that query that scanned 300GB was the enabler? Meaning , it transformed/aggregated the underlying data so that thousands of other queries could just query the aggregated table? A dependency between queries is required to make a more accurate evaluation.
Don't become a data engineer in 2024 all the cool stuff happens in data science and deep learning, plus AI will replace all the manual plumbing work soon...
I have received this comment twice on my YouTube channel.
The funny thing is, it's been over a year since the first one, and I am still opening up 3,000 line queries that need to be broken down, simplified, and improved.
I am still taking notebooks from data scientists and converting them into repeatable and reliable data pipelines.
I am still having to re-model and integrate data from 8 different source systems to try to put together a coherent marketing funnel.
So, I don't think AI will be replacing data engineers any time soon.
I don't care what "side" you're on...
If Elon Musk became US Head of Efficiency... our nation would revitalize.
He's categorically the best CEO of our generation. He turned the US dying space and auto industries to world leading. Let's quantify this... 60 % of all satellites in the Earth's orbit are now from Starlink.
There are an estimated 10,036 satellites in Earth's orbit. Starlink has 6,800. The US will launch around 159 rockets into space this year... SpaceX has already launched 84 this year. Last year he launched 96.
This isn't even to dive into his revolution in media, electric cars, batteries and open-sourcing technology. Balaji has an incredible tweet describing the difficulty of hardware in general. Then add electric, space, reusable rockets, while managing 3 multi-billion dollar companies simultaneously. His pain tolerance must be unrivaled. I pray for him and could never stomach his life.
Anyone who thinks he is bad for our economy or humanity is either lying or so dumb as to be irrelevant. We should pray that our best and brightest like Elon would go into government and make it 1/10 as efficient with our tax dollars as they are with their investment dollars.
As @balajis said to me, "A great litmus test of people is if you ask them if Elon Musk is a good CEO or good for humanity and they say no... run don't walk away." I agree, they are a burn it downer not a builder.
