@ntbrown01 I'm using FreeCAD and a Bambu X1C with AMS (material changer). Works well for images/text, but is quite slow for those layers, as it has to change filament and purge the old one from the nozzle. I do images/text on the bottom two layers/0.4mm. Found one layer wasn't enough.
@steveMmattison@horsemankukka@iunderwood Ok, so for dew point you need external temp and humidity, from which you can calculate saturation vapour pressure. Off-the-shelf M5Stack make the "ENV IV" that gives both plus air pressure, speaks I2C so easily used on basically any micro. May need a Stevenson screen for it.
@steveMmattison@horsemankukka@iunderwood I suspect the energy required by the heater dwarfs the energy requirements of the sensor/control electronics - look at what you can do to insulate the enclosure to minimise the energy required to heat it, and to minimise thermal mass within the temperature controlled section.
@steveMmattison@iunderwood If every milliamp matters, be careful when picking ESP32 boards - many use 1117-style linear regulators on the devboard versions, along with leaving the USB-serial chip running, which can be 40mA or more. I found a low quiescent current one from DFRobot I could deepsleep at 40uA
@wil_da_beast630 Subtract 1 from "Male: Yes" please... misread it as "should be illegal". Illegal because you need to draw the line some distance back from the hard stop.
@ElecNotes More Sziklai things: Vbe temperature dependence is mostly on the driver transistor - easier to compensate for than a Darlington
Stray inductance between the transistors, eg. long cables between driver and output BJTs, can result in HF oscillation. Cue accidental 30MHz...
@Bob_Rosenberg1@BiblicalBeauty Highly recommend a Brother laser - I'm on my second one in twenty years, and that's only because I upgraded to colour - the black and white one was still working a treat. Toner isn't cheap but doesn't go off like ink does
@haynes_wiley Have you read "The Continum Concept" by Jean Liedloff? Although there were a couple of parts that I thought were effectively negligence (no, you can't trust babies not to fall into pits), overall it was a good read, touching on many of the same things as your thread here.
@KirinDave@aengusmcmillin@mylesbyrne@__justplaying Fats are complex hydrocarbons - mostly H and C, with a little O. It's converted to H2O and CO2 with potential energy extracted in the process. H2O excreted via urination, CO2 exhaled. No change in mass, just in form and potential energy.
@TheNzRocketeer@MHReddell Good article, thanks. Also double jabbed by choice - and thinking the effects of our response are likely to be felt longer than the disease itself.
@andylancelot@ComputerLove_ Yeah, I gave my old one away decades ago for a dozen beer, and just paid nearly NZ$500 for one after deciding actually I do want that nostalgia (they got used in education in New Zealand for a time)
@andylancelot@ComputerLove_ Yay, the venerable Beeb. Looks like a Model B. Such a great computer to learn on. I recently managed to score myself a working Model B... they are not cheap these days 😬
@shutter_j@LucySussex In NZ there's a charity called "Riding For The Disabled". Help getting on and off the horses, special saddles with extra support, etc. Likely something similar in Oz.
@covid19nz @bell_b80370500 I complained to the REA about this last October, when going to about 10 open homes per weekend in Auckland - and it was about 50/50 whether a QR code was available. My suggestion they should send a reminder to all agents via their channels was rebuffed.
@Gaea56998567 The utter gall of *actually having* $10,100 of effectively disposable income to spend on this, then bloody complaining about it. That's a lot of food and rent
@nblr@RobLudwick@eevblog The top one looks like it'd spill to the sides without damaging it; the second one concerns me - a log hitting the middle of the horizontal truss, and it's all going to be in the water.
@tony_weise@cathcam @ELotS_BOM @AgBioWorld@reddit The top version appears well-designed against floods - well secured, high up (it will spill to the sides before hitting the bottom of the panel structure), minimal footprint in the flood plain. The second one appears far less flood-resistant (lateral load in the truss = problem).
@DylanReeve You need a digging pole, eg. https://t.co/eSLQjqgYfj
My old place was rocks held together by a small amount of dirt glue, and this was the only way to get anywhere.
