@BritishCycling according to https://t.co/qI03iVxM73 the number of cyclist went up by 100% to 200% over that period. So relatively speaking the number of fatal crashes has reduced. Why has it reduced? Less cars due to lock downs. It's cars that's the issue.
What a poor article by @BBCMarshall. Completely overlooking the fact that cycling is up by 100% to 200% in 2020 over 2019. And no insight in the cause. Please have a word with @fietsprofessor

@fietsprofessor@ETSC_EU I know it's not a fair comparison, but if you had the same chance of getting killed in (or by) an aeroplane as a car, no one would fly....
@gCaptain That's a bit click-baity. TLDR: Discovery Chanel went with some speculative suggestions and every investigation after that pretty much debunked it and sticks to the original cause of a sheared bow door.
@FenneGeo @fietsprofessor The danger of simply assuming that cars are irreplaceable is missing true innovation. It's not just bikes that are the alternative to cars - there's so much more.
@StateSchoolDad@KentTories@CFoEducation Research being done on grammar schools fails to tackle the education problem as a whole. This country needs more grammar schools (entry based on merit) and get rid of private schools (entry based on cash).
