@darjohnston77 @tangotiger It would be based on Batting Run Value, Baserunning Value, Fielding Value based for position players; Pitching Run Value for pitchers. Those are still based on actual production and not expected production.
Now, xWAR is a different story that would probably be xwOBA based

@cubs_sophia9601 Imagine if any other industry had a salary cap across all competing companies. You’re making employees fight one another for a bigger slice and making the stockholders (owners) richer while removing incentive to pay more for higher skilled workers because then everyone else sucks
