Forest Department collaborated with Dept. of Urban Development on occasion World Environment Day at Sonsodo dumping site, Margao in presence of Hon’ble Ministers Sh. Vishwajit Rane and Sh. Digambar Kamat. 111 seedlings, including Jackfruit, Amla, Badam, and Imli planted at site.
The Department took World Environment Day to the industrial clusters at IDC Pissurlem Campus in the presence of Dr. Deviya Rane, Hon’ble MLA, Poreim. 🌳🌱 1,538 saplings were planted by stakeholders including schoolchildren, Panchayat members, and the general public

Forest Dept. successfully tranquilized and rescued a female juvenile leopard entangled in a snare wire today, from private cashew plantation at Piliem, Dharbandora with combined efforts of Ponda & Bondla rescue teams, with minimal response time and released into the wild.
Olive Ridley hatchlings mark a successful beginning to the nesting season!
93 turtle hatchlings from the first preserved clutch at the Forest Department hatchery at Morjim beach were released into sea by Marine Range (North).

Indian Courser recorded as the 500th bird species officially documented from Goa!
