Apollo is out of the homeless shelter and is safe with a foster now (pictured). This angel was living in a cage two sizes too small with his "owner" coming in and out, sometimes leaving the dog there for days. I can't imagine how scared he was all alone not even able to stand up.
I am happy to hear that Ridglan Farms is winding down its operations as a beagle breeding and testing facility. There is a need for stronger administrative and legislative measures to protect animals from torturous conditions in testing, but this is a good step towards those national goals. The federal government must take state and local violations into account when overseeing facilities.
I will continue to work on this issue until we find more humane ways to do medical testing that don’t require the abuse of animals. I congratulate the organizations and advocates that have helped make this happen.
UPDATE—First exclusive interview with the woman whose family dog was shot & killed by the LAPD.
"He’s my baby," nurse Marie Marseille said through tears.
"It doesn’t make any sense to me. I can’t make sense of anything."

Ridglan Farms is shutting down -
Ridglan Farms, the second-largest beagle supplier to laboratories in the US, is releasing the 475 remaining Beagle dogs to Big Dog Ranch Rescue in Florida & Alabama.
Ridglan agreed to surrender its Wisconsin dog-breeding license to avoid criminal animal cruelty charges, after years of scrutiny over conditions, breeding practices, & lack of veterinary oversight.
The facility entered a settlement with a special prosecutor in 2025 that saw them agree to end their breeding operation by July 1, 2026 in order to avoid prosecution.
PLEASE sign the petition, call and be respectful, & let’s get Snuggles home where he belongs!
@PeteHegseth this dog belongs to
A Veteran and should have never been taken away.

Here's another massive thank you - this one goes out to the incredible staff at the Shenandoah County Animal Shelter. You are truly angels in disguise.
When I picked Lucy up, it was clear she had been well cared for. She’d been bathed, fed, and loved on. You even went out of your way to replace her ruined bed with a new one, and she’s already claimed it like it’s always been hers.
You took a heartbreaking situation and did everything you could to make it a little softer for her. That kind of kindness doesn’t go unnoticed.
The Shenandoah County Animal Shelter runs almost entirely on donations. If you’re able, they could really use your help. Here’s their list of needed items and their Amazon wishlist:

The outpouring of generosity we’ve received from people across the country and around the world has been overwhelming. If you have it in your heart to help the shelter the same way you helped us, these folks would be deeply grateful.
There’s one moment from the day we picked Lucy up that I’ll never forget. As we were getting ready to leave, it finally hit her that she was going home. She was excited, but also emotional. Before she took that first step toward the door, she turned around and went back to nuzzle the woman who had cared for her these past two months. One last, gentle thank you.
That small gesture said everything about the kind of people who work there.
To every staff member at the Shenandoah County Animal Shelter: thank you. From the bottom of our hearts.
Los Angeles, CA - A night of celebrating the Knicks turned into a nightmare. LAPD claims Jameson was aggressive, but Marie says he was just walking toward them in his jersey.
I ASK YOU: Was lethal force justified? Is this another of those 10,000+ cases?
SHARE this. We speak for the ones who can’t.

Today’s victory at Ridglan Farms is hard to overstate.
@Lewis_Bollard has more knowledge and experience fighting for animals than almost anyone in the animal advocacy movement.
And he was skeptical we could shut them down.
Incredible things are possible if we believe.
Whenever you feel that the fight against cruelty is hopeless — remember today’s victory.
Every animal huddling in darkness will see a world of freedom.
Shadows are always cast before the light.
But the light is coming. We are the light.
We will win.
For them.
A Wisconsin beagle breeding farm that’s been the site of recent violent protests is closing, and its remaining dogs are being taken in by a Florida rescue group. https://t.co/HZWdAsZp3I
We won! Ridglan is closing and all the dogs are coming out!
And I want to share two important things about how we won. (Hint: it wasn’t me. It was someone else!)
URGENT WARNING: PESTICIDE POISON IN YOUR DOGS & CATS – ORAL PILLS, TOPICALS & YEAR-LONG INJECTIONS
These so-called “flea and tick medications” are not medicine. They are powerful pesticides — insecticides designed to attack and destroy nervous systems.
Whether given as monthly oral pills, topical spot-ons, or the new long-acting injectable shots that stay in the bloodstream for up to 12 full months, the result is the same:
Your pet’s blood becomes toxic.
Documented adverse events from these pesticide-based products include:
• Severe neurological issues
• Seizures
• Tremors
• And death
Once the chemical is inside — swallowed, absorbed through the skin, or injected — you cannot wash it off. You cannot reverse it. All you can do is watch and hope your dog or cat survives the damage to their nervous system.
Veterinarians continue to tell pet owners these products are “safe and effective.”
Pet owners trust their vets and keep giving them.
But we know exactly what happens when Big Pharma loudly claims something is “safe and effective.”
This is not protection.
This is chemical Russian roulette with your best friend’s life.
Protect your dogs and cats. Stop the pesticides.
Share this before another pet suffers seizures, neurological collapse, or worse.
🐾 Your animals deserve better than poison in their veins.
“Los Angeles utility workers are making OVER $700,000 a YEAR.”
Spencer Pratt dug into LADWP payroll records — 100+ employees clearing $500K, some hitting $700K in an $11 BILLION department run by the same political insiders.
This is institutionalized fraud on taxpayers.
Animal rights is at a turning point.
There have been three pieces in the @nytimes opinion pages over the last couple weeks on cruelty to animals, including two by among the most influential columnists of our generation, @NickKristof and @ezraklein.
This little girl from Ridglan doesn't understand freedom yet. She's confused by open space after life in a cage.
But she already understands love. They all do. And love is exactly what she and the 2000 other pups are going to get!
Together, we saved the Beagles. Incredible news. The expectation is that the remaining 475 beagles will be transferred to @BDRRescue by the end of August. The mission to turn off the flow of federal funds for ALL facilities that engage in dog and cast testing continues, including Marshall Farms in New York. https://t.co/bIX8oELw48
There is big news dropping today re: Ridglan. Stay tuned, as this will have a huge impact on the fight to save all dogs from experiments.
And to rescue all animals from abuse.
