@TUIUK please can you tell me why our family holiday & my wife’s 50th birthday present trip to Tenerife (departing 26th Oct, returning 2nd Nov) has been cancelled has with only three weeks notice?!
Raging doesn’t cover it! We’ve booked parking, holiday bits etc & it’s in tatters!

@MrBeast I would send the funds to @WillowBanksFS who provide vital alternative education for children aged 5-16 with Special Educational Needs. Currently, they are raising funds for a classroom of their own and a polytunnel to grow plants/produce to sell.

@AndyWoodturner @MmeBlahblatsky I spent too long being angry at the crows behind our house for the same reason. Then I visited @SharandysBOP and they told me it’s because Buzzards prey on Crows and the “mobbing” is seen to ward them off. Very informative and a wonderful place to visit (and learn!)

The day after the village coronation was The Big Help Out.
Mrs MakeIt & MiniMakeIts helped make bird/bat boxes and Mrs MakeIt taught villagers how to weave bird feeders from Willow @ForestSchoolUK

Not something I made, but it makes the Go! Juice I need to design and make things. A very well received birthday present from Mrs MakeIt and the MiniMakeIts (yes, that is what I’m calling them now!)

Catching up on work this year. Made 50 of these for the village Coronation event. The older generation among them were really keen to understand the process and ask loads of good questions.
An engaging time and all really well received!

I’ve been a bit lax on here of late, but have been busy with the 3D printer this year.
Will be posting updates and hopefully making some good progress across all fronts soon!

@behindyourback I work from home (since before it was cool 😂) & moved my Dad over to our town to be closer to us in his older age. We go and see him quite a bit, but he makes lots of noise about me being too busy when he randomly walks in the front door during office hours!🙄 love him to bits!

@ShimmerV6 @Manxy @OVOEnergy It’s the “sorry to hear that” part. They aren’t “sorry”, it’s a standard response copy/paste. I don’t expect them to be sorry, and that line isn’t needed. It’s up there with “thoughts and prayers”.

@OVOEnergy You can’t “get it up and running”, even the SMET2 meter I have installed doesn’t get mobile signal, so cannot send the figures back. I am doing this manually for you, so these are accurate figures (and a massive piss take, frankly)

@GuySie @MC372 @davetrott If i weren’t terminally lazy, I’d go downstairs and actually look at any number of our failed attempts at keeping plants alive to see what the soil looks like! Completely agree with you in that the water just comes out as quick as you pour it in!

Moist soil is more “fluffy” and less compact, so the water can get into more surface area and be absorbed.
I also think the longer grass in the fist clip helps air get into the cup and force water out a bit?

@MC372 @GuySie @davetrott Ok, I’m going to have a crack at this with my non-science brain & assume that the earth is baked hard, so like doing this experiment on a house brick, it’s difficult for the water to be absorbed. Your houseplants have a gap between the pot and the dry soil (maybe other voids) 1/2
