New breakthrough quantum algorithm published in @Nature today: Our Willow chip has achieved the first-ever verifiable quantum advantage.
Willow ran the algorithm - which we’ve named Quantum Echoes - 13,000x faster than the best classical algorithm on one of the world's fastest supercomputers. This new algorithm can explain interactions between atoms in a molecule using nuclear magnetic resonance, paving a path towards potential future uses in drug discovery and materials science.
And the result is verifiable, meaning its outcome can be repeated by other quantum computers or confirmed by experiments.
This breakthrough is a significant step toward the first real-world application of quantum computing, and we're excited to see where it leads.
🚀 New paper alert!
We are excited to share a new paper: GViNC — an innovative framework for genome graph comparison reveals hidden patterns in the genetic diversity of human populations.
While genome graphs capture genetic diversity in a unique manner, existing tools fall short in quantifying and comparing the structural features of large genome graphs. GViNC changes that.
🔍 Key features:
✅ Scalable framework for Partitioning genome graphs into interpretable subgraphs by mapping linear coordinates to graph nodes.
✅ Single figure visualisation of large genome graphs, unveiling the intricate patterns of genetic diversity from even thousands of individuals.
✅ Novel methods to Quantify and compare variability, hypervariability, and graph distances.
When applied to 85M+ variants from 2504 individuals (1000 Genomes Project), GViNC revealed:
✅ 10x rise in variability & 50x in hypervariability due to rare variants.
✅ Ancestry and chromosome-specific complexity.
✅ Known regions like HLA and many new high-diversity regions of the human genome.

Seminar @CNB_CSIC of Prof. Himanshu Sinha @Himanshu_IITM of the @iitmadras a pioneer of applying ML & AI for tackling gene-to-function prediction. In a further screw turn, using yeast as model he will discuss today how genetic variants collectively influence complex traits
Researchers at @iitmadras and the Technical University of Denmark (@DTUtweet) have discovered how interactions between genetic variants act as “switches” that unlock hidden metabolic pathways.
Published in Nature Communications, the study shows how two yeast variants, when combined, activated a dormant arginine biosynthesis pathway, reprogramming metabolism and proving that genes working together can create entirely new outcomes.
This breakthrough offers critical insights into complex diseases like cancer, diabetes, and neurodegenerative disorders, paving the way for personalised medicine with more precise biomarkers and drug targets.
Beyond healthcare, the findings hold promise for synthetic biology, microbial engineering, and precision agriculture, where engineered gene interactions could improve biofuels, pharmaceuticals, and crop resilience.
The discovery redefines our understanding of gene–gene interactions and opens new frontiers in healthcare and biotechnology.

Exciting News: My Autobiography is Coming Soon!
I’ve always believed that every journey—no matter how unpredictable or unconventional—holds lessons worth sharing. After years of building, learning, and navigating the highs and lows of entrepreneurship, I’m thrilled to announce that my autobiography is on its way!
This book is a deeply personal reflection on my experiences—filled with the wins, the stumbles, and the invaluable lessons that shaped me. It’s about the people, the ideas, and the serendipitous moments that made all the difference.
I wrote this for fellow dreamers, builders, and risk-takers—for those who dare to challenge the status quo and carve their own paths. If you’ve ever wondered about the stories behind the scenes, the challenges no one talks about, and the mindset shifts that turn obstacles into opportunities, this book is for you.
Stay tuned for the official launch details! I can’t wait to share this journey with all of you. @anadianant
