Replace the word “love” & “it” w/ your spouse’s name. Then, try it w/ your own name.
Is there any truth there?
“Love is patient & kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 ESV
40 years of wandering a desert because of grumbling…
Think before you complain.
“And the Lord spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, “How long shall this wicked congregation grumble against me? I have heard the grumblings of the people of Israel, which they grumble against me.”
Numbers 14:26-27 ESV
“According to the number of the days in which you spied out the land, forty days, a year for each day, you shall bear your iniquity forty years, and you shall know my displeasure.’”
Numbers 14:34 ESV

“Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to His own advantage; rather, He made Himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!”
Philippians 2:6-8 NIV
God is a loving FATHER.
Just like any father would, He has rules and expectations.
Don’t get His discipline mixed up with hate, and don’t get His love mixed up with acceptance.
“I always believed my experience with ages three days old to thirteen years old was teaching me to become a mom one day. While I believe that is still true and valuable knowledge, I believe it eased my hard journey to motherhood as well.”
“My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, from the words of my groaning?
O my God, I cry by day, but you do not answer, and by night, but I find no rest.
Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel.
In you our fathers trusted; they trusted, and you delivered them.
To you they cried and were rescued; in you they trusted and were not put to shame.”
Psalm 22:1-5 ESV
