Artificial intelligence finds that a quarter million cancer research papers have been faked

A 2026 study trained an AI on 2,202 cancer papers that had been identified as fake. It then applied this model to look into 2.65 million original cancer research papers published between 1999 and 2024. It flagged 261,245 papers as fake

- Over 178,000 flagged papers had Chinese institutional affiliations
- Roughly 36% of Chinese cancer research output in the dataset
- Iran was next at around 20%

This is a major problem because this can mean the medical community amplifies completely fake research and findings

Social Security wants $6K back from my dead mom.

When my dad died, my mom got a letter from Social Security.
Paraphrased: you're a widow, you qualify for your husband's benefit, and we're not sending you any of it.

The reason was a 1977 rule called the Government Pension Offset. If you had a government pension, Social Security subtracted two-thirds of it from your spousal or widow benefit. My mom taught school in California, so she had a state teachers' pension. Two retirements became one.

My mom was ok, but it pissed her off.

Imagine the government sending you a letter telling you they're cutting your income in half, so sorry for your loss, but we're piling on with a weird letter that makes no sense. I had to google the phrase to find out about the pension thing.

Today's letter says they calculated the offset wrong, and they want $6,000 from me.

Here's the thing.
When my mom was dying, she gave me web access to her bank account, and I downloaded every statement back to 2018.
There's no Social Security payment in any of them. Zero.

Two-thirds of her pension should have left her something.
I think their code subtracted 100%. And they have new code that calculates it right. Good for them.

So the SSA wants $6K. By my math, they probably owe her estate closer to $50K. Probably other people too.

🚨 as of 48 hours ago, Five buses full of migrants left the bus terminal in San Pedro Sula heading to the Corinto border to pursue the American Dream. Children, women, and men with backpacks in hand boarded the buses and said they were going to look for work opportunities in the United States, claiming that the situation in their own country is complicated. In Corinto they’ll meet up with a group of Salvadorans who will also be traveling with them. This is the third caravan out of Honduras in about ten days. The first one on October thirteenth had around two thousand people walking out of that same terminal in San Pedro Sula. A second, smaller group left from the south four days later. This bus version is the deliberate pivot, organizers (NGOs) told reporters they switched to public transportation to minimize the risks of the long walk, which in past caravans meant dehydration, robberies, and cartel encounters along the trafficking routes. Guatemala’s migration institute says about seventy-five had already crossed at Corinto by that first night, with more expected. Honduras also reinforced the Agua Caliente crossing further west, anticipating over a thousand more trying to slip through. And the same day this group left, Honduran police in San Pedro Sula arrested three people they call the Valdivieso structure, a woman who recruited migrants and collected payments, a man who arranged legs inside Honduras, and a guide who walked people through Guatemala and Mexico to the US border. They moved people on public transport and planned by phone, which is exactly the model this caravan is using on the surface. During Mak's annual physical his PCP brings up the vaccines he needs. I politely told them I have a religious exemption on file with both them & the schools. Appointment ends.

As we are walking out a nurse jumps in front of me with a clipboard saying I needed to sign the new vaccine policy saying I understand that if 2x in a row a refuse vaccination we WILL BE KICKED OUT of the office!!

I took the clipboard, walked into an empty exam room to read it. She followed & shut the door. After a minute asked if I had any questions. I said yes "Does Pedicatic Healthcare Associates have a good lawyer? We're leaving now"

Before we got home I got a phone call & message in his patient portal from his PCP & a call from 1 of the heads of the practice.

ALL wanted to speak with me to "RESOLVE & EXPLAIN" what the CONSEQUENCES of NOT consenting will be.

I NEVER replied.

I will NOT allow them to kick my sons out of the PCP they've had since birth. That's connected to their specialist & pediatric urgent care.

I will NOT be BULLIED into vaccinating MY sons.

I will NOT be THREATENED into vaccinating MY sons.

I will FIGHT back on the Vaccine Policy.

I will SPEAK UP to EXPOSE what they are doing to parents & patients.
