Honestly, the hardest part of cloud security is sneaking into @AWS data centers to slap @threatbutt stickers of cyber protection on all the infrastructure we use.
I don't post much here anymore, but I'd like to suggest gov/SEC responds with "We will only acknowledge/respond to these claims if you provide a confirmed legal entity for us to coordinate with" or something like that to ensure ppl can't throw this shade from shadows.
…what.
I don’t know what to say about this one. Is this a first?
It appears that the ALPHV (BlackCat) ransomware group has…filed an SEC complaint on behalf of one of their victims. Are we entering into a new era of extortion via compliance failure?
I have questions…
Well, I finally took the time to do it, https://t.co/ps0zIVrM6m blog is gone (due to my negligence in renewing the domain), and it has resurfaced as https://t.co/2cdmoEPD37. Old content is up as of yesterday and some new stuff coming soon.
@bettersafetynet Obvs I don't know any of the context of the situation, but I'm finding myself arguing with myself that sometimes calling out "...and the horse you rode in on" type responses is actually the most appropriate. but your mileage may vary. :D
More info to come soon with what new domain it will be replaced with. Currently have "https://t.co/cvdbK2QxG5" or "https://t.co/WpEJy4cRD0" lined up, but may land on something else?
I made a big dumb everyone. I accidentally let my "https://t.co/ps0zIVrM6m" domain expire, so my blog is probably no longer reachable. :( I'm currently in the middle of rebuilding it in Azure. It's currently available at: https://t.co/y5Pgo56Smy
@bettersafetynet This is going to sound obvious, but also checking "host <a> is beaconing out! what _other_ machines on our network are trying to beacon out to that same infrastructure?" great callout @bettersafetynet <3
I finally wrote another blog! It has been WAY too long. I've been thinking a bit about infra used in attacks and it feels like an interesting rabbit hole: https://t.co/7DbKY378gX
@awindbynight This is also where I've been weighing the cost of getting the equipment and time to learn some skills to make what I want as opposed to buying it. :\ Also, that pic is kinda awesome.
Super excited to head out to DefCon this year again. Started making some swag to bring with me and give away. If you're there and want to meet up or say hi, feel free to hit me up!
@cybersecmeg@BlackHatEvents@defcon Meet new people. There are lots of fantastic people out there, and this is a small world. Assuredly you'll cross paths again.
