Vladimir Putin desperately wants to hide a dark truth from the world:

The Soviet Union was actively allied with Nazi Germany until 1941, and would have stayed its loyal partner even longer had Adolf Hitler not betrayed them first.

Modern Russia has transformed World War II and imperial expansion into a fanatical state religion. However, this entire cult of memory is built on a foundation of historical lies designed to sanitize the Kremlin's bloody past. The historical reality is that Stalin's USSR gave massive economic and strategic help to the Nazi war machine, fueling the early blitzkrieg and cooperating to rip Poland apart.

This legacy of deception directly shapes Russia's current war of aggression. The Kremlin manufactures shameless lies about ”denazifying” Ukraine to justify a lawless, imperialist land grab.

In a twist of absolute hypocrisy, Moscow projects its own dark impulses onto a democratic neighbor while ignoring the rampant extremism within its own borders.

Nowhere is this clearer than on the front, where Russia actively deploys open neo-nazi paramilitary units like the notorious Rusich group to carry out its ambitions.
