It's been an incredible journey learning from the research and patient-advocate communities to prepare for today's launch of https://t.co/hy3K40KCMZ and @LongCovidLearn. We hope our work helps you find ways to talk to coworkers, friends, and family about the risks to us all.

We're excited to announce the launch of https://t.co/eOCcf5Ju2I at today's @TheWHN symposium. What are we learning about #LongCovid? Should the risks change what precautions we take? Follow us for key findings from the global research community made simple and accessible to all.
Another year desperately trying to get my kid a booster before she brings Covid home to the rest of the family. FDA *could* have approved them to ship it weeks ago. Hell, the approved pediatric dose is actually just half the Moderna vial for 12yo+. Same concentration! But nooooo.
I've learned from my own efforts to improve air quality in local schools that it takes organization, funding, and especially the will to make a difference. I'm hopeful Illinois can step up and set an example for the nation. Clean indoor air helps keep kids healthy and learning.
📣 The @ilga is back in session! Pls support IL HB3713 Clean Air for Healthy Equitable Schools. We already passed the House and are now hoping to be assigned to a Senate committee (deadline to pass out of committee is 3/15). Please like & repost! Let’s make some noise! 📣 #twill
@aleksj Really? Is it that the air outside is too cold so they just mix more oxygen into the air that was there when the doors are sealed and count on filtration to do the rest? Surely there's CO2 scrubbing? (I don't know much about the engineering here and I'm curious.)
Hey @AlaskaAir, even if you don't care about unmasked passengers getting sick from poorly ventilated flights, it would be awesome not to spend 6hr on AS 3 DCA->SEA with a splitting headache from ~2000ppm CO2. I'll be rethinking who I fly with until you do something about this.
1/ "As an industrial hygienist, Seminario was extremely critical that there were no experts in respiratory protection on the committee....She believes that the HICPAC committee members are likely so opposed to respirators https://t.co/0pq9sBStHi
“Jimenez said that NIOSH experts he’s spoken with agree with him but “are basically forbidden from talking to the press.” This is because “if they talked freely about the science, it will contradict the policies of the @CDCgov” #MaskUp#SARSCov2 https://t.co/DckPiLk1gd
Who wants a black @3M Aura? More would benefit from excellent protection if this respirator was available in black. We've written to the CEO of 3M to highlight this popular request. Retweet if you want to make safety stylish @3MHealthCare @3MSafety @3MNews https://t.co/tLtoWpFVhI
Thorough dissection of the flawed Cochrane Review on masking.
Turns out, in addition to the design flaws pointed out by others, the underlying math is also incorrect. (Kudos to the authors for their keen eye!)
@cochranecollab, time to consider a retraction?
New paper on Masks:
Some claim scientific studies show masks don’t work, or that surgical masks are as good as N95s. Just released paper shows this claim is false. Masks work, and N95 respirators give a much higher benefit than surgical masks.1/
@ulc2020@CleanAirStars I did see the Lago on Amazon, but nearly $150 in white. (My wife's requirement. 😄) I looked around for China sourcing but couldn't find any direct-to-consumer options in reasonable quantities.
@CleanAirStars@TaoTronics Great idea to remove the carbon filter if odors aren't a problem. It would be an *enormous* service to the community for someone to test some of these non-OEM filters for particle efficiency. They're often ½ the price. But are they 50% or 90% as effective? https://t.co/CUGVSanDQG
@JimRosenthal4 If you're ok with taping, this is a nice filter configuration to simplify and reduce costs. We will do it better with 6 CoolerMaster SickleFlow fans that have 2.5 times the static pressure of the AC Infinity fans. Will be interesting for @robwiss to test the CADR difference!
@DavidElfstrom @flowermusickids @toba@robwiss@FitTestMyPlanet@sri_srikrishna Thanks for the independent testing! I love the promise of PC fan CR boxes, but I feel like we're missing the friendliest form factor: floor-standing with side intake and *top* exhaust. Like @cleanairkits Luggable, but maybe 2x3 fans on top—less tip-over-y? https://t.co/YkQDDk4ZS4
@DavidElfstrom @flowermusickids @toba@robwiss@FitTestMyPlanet@sri_srikrishna More generally, I'm curious whether your testing upheld the Levoit 400S CADR numbers, @DavidElfstrom. DIY filtration is effective, no question, but when folks ask me for something quiet, small-ish, and with more conventional aesthetics (white plastic), the 400S has been my pick.
@CleanAirStars@TaoTronics Front (or 360-degree) inflow and top outflow also seems more effective than a back-to-front like the Starkvind, where it's even more important to keep it away from the wall (where the plug is 99% of the time), and then you have a forward-firing blast of air not everyone enjoys.
@CleanAirStars@TaoTronics ... yes, I talked myself into the Levoit Core 400S as the best not-discontinued option ($25 coupon helps). I'm just lamenting what a steal Midea/Lago/TT was at <$100 ($50 even!) for a simple, solid purifier with front inflow and top outflow that you can 2x or 3x for great CADR.
