Overheard at a dinner with tech CEOs the other night:
The top 1% of customer success and sales people at their companies are becoming hybrid "forward-deployed product managers"
They're not just managing relationships and relaying requests to product and engineering, but building features themselves.
They don't need t wait for engineering, product or design. They can ship exactly what the customer wants, instantly.
This is becoming prevalent at early-stage startups.
Roles as we know them are going to look completely different in a few years.
@CJHandmer That has to be it right? We demonstrably learn from far fewer examples.
The extreme version is traumatic experiences resetting a whole worldview.
Low stakes => low levels of adjustment
High stakes => high levels of adjustment
Best marriage trick I’ve discovered: “The Movie Game”
When picking a movie with a group of folks (back when we had physical DVDs and VHS options) we would take turns each removing a movie from the options.
Eventually you’re left with one movie and it never fails to be the best choice for people with diverse preferences.
You can do this in marriage for low-medium stakes stuff too like where to go for dinner, or vacation, or which apartment to move into, or any number of things.
You almost always discover the best option for both of you.
Tucker Carlson just gave the most brutally honest marriage advice I’ve ever heard:
Don’t say “Whatever you want, babe.”
When she asks orange or pink napkins? You confidently say “Pink.” She’ll correct you to orange — then you immediately declare “Orange is perfect” like it was your idea. Same with dinner. She doesn’t want you to hand over every decision. She wants you to lead… while she still feels heard.
Tucker’s line: “You’re repeating her choice back to her as a decision.”
Raw. Funny. And probably true.
A lot of modern relationship advice ignores how men and women actually communicate in real life. Getting this dynamic right can save years of unnecessary fights.
I laughed because I’ve seen this exact dance play out. Tucker has zero filter and it’s oddly refreshing.
Married or about-to-be-married people — how accurate is this in your experience?
@Micro2Macr0@saylor Earth, Luna, and close orbits will be one dominant economic zone for a very long time
Mars, Jupiter, Venus, and other useful orbits will be their own as well
It’ll take a while before we need to worry about having copies of Bitcoin in other economic zones and trade between them
@alon_mizrahi A mentor taught me that grief and suffering dig trenches in the soul, and the deeper the trenches the more life and beauty and goodness a person is capable of carrying.
American Christians do not experience the same kind of life as those in the rest of the world.

Insurance is Capitalism’s great self regulator
It prices negative externalities regardless of people’s political opinions
E.g Fire and flood insurance is a carbon tax by other means

@ShanuMathew93 Great!
Knowing the real price will allow markets to determine what is valuable use of scarce resources (electricity, chips, etc)
I’ll bet that means less slop and more cancer research when it all shakes out.
This was obvious to anyone paying attention to Claude.
It’s no surprise either. It’s trained on all our content, has to interface with our way of doing things (text, video, etc). And it’s rewarded when people engage which requires modeling how humans connect.
This was always going to emerge.

@jumperz Once you can legally and easily send and receive money as an agent there are very few barriers for agents to take over all digital work
Makes sense why X money is being built right next to MacroHard (Microsoft software operated by virtual employees)
Soon the BS will fall away
