Graviera Naxou, the hallmark cheese of the Cyclades made primarily from cow’s milk with a touch of sheep or goat milk, has been named the Best Cheese in the World for 2025/26 on TasteAtlas.

The ranking is based on verified user ratings from people who have actually tasted the products, with algorithms that remove bot activity and coordinated voting groups to keep the results fair and transparent.

Produced on Naxos since the early 1900s, Graviera Naxou is made mainly from local cow’s milk, with small additions of sheep or goat milk. It is traditionally aged for several months, during which it develops a compact structure and a mild, balanced flavor typical of Cycladic cheeses.
