Good things happening for stakers with 2TB disks via history expiry.

@nethermind 1.33 (soon) can expire without resync, and can do rolling expiry where it only keeps one year. Caveat that rolling expiry messes with you if you need receipts - looking at you @RocketPool_Fi

It’s trade offs all the way down in crypto land. Geth moved to path based state which greatly helped with disk space growth; but as Nitro finds, that has performance implications.
Nethermind went Half-Path for better performance and some of the disk space growth savings.

The 2025 Staking Survey results are live!

We received 740 total responses from stakers of all types including solo stakers, liquid protocol operators, professional operators, LST holders, Staking-as-a-Service (SaaS) users, and exited stakers.

Responses cover rewards, issuance, centralization concerns, protocol risk, hardware, bandwidth, Pectra Type 2 validator adoption, and more, with new comparisons shown to 2024 data where relevant.
