I was desperate after losing my cell phone this afternoon in Shanghai. After making several calls, a man finally answered and said he would give me back but he was busy. I was not sure and continued to call. After one hour, he replied again and told me to go to a place to meet him. I got my phone back. He was a street cleaner, a good man. For those who live in China, cell phone is everything. It’s all your IDs, it’s all your credit cards and it’s your life.
@ShutrRelease@CalMacFerries Fully understand calmac are in a shambles. Is it possible for your in-laws and wife to get train to Ardrossan and board as pedestrians. You drive and take luggage via kintyre ferry
@ColinBurnett16 Nonsense. There’s tesco express at the high school. Theres tesco superstore on the edge of town. Has independent bakers and butchers, small convenience stores dotted about. If you dont like any of them theres morrison, sainsbury, asda, lidl in adj towns. Open your eyes.
@mark_lj I’d say 3. 4 in a car is usually someone not being comfortable. More than 4 and its minibus time or back row seats and interaction more limited
@BeautifuIIslay @SP_NetZero Nope, you buy more catamarans for the same money, gives you robustness in your fleet, more capacity overall, more sailings per day and standardise vessels across the fleet. Read Roy Pedersons books, they are illuminating. Other countries procure ferries, just not like calmac do
@silenceothebams@SP_NetZero Read the books on scottish ferries by Roy Pederson . The catamarans are more efficient, have fewer cancelled sailings and operate the pentland firth ( have for yrs) without a subsidy, making a profit and providing more sailings per day than the calmac subsidiary doing the run
@BeautifuIIslay @SP_NetZero Must be a few,why do you think Calmac are leasing it now for a short term fix. I may be wrong but i also believe Uig, Harris and N Uist could accommodate without the expensive disruptive engineering works currently being undertaken.
@pauljwillson Was ther last week and I’m fascinated at the jagged rock pools you’ve captured. I need to go a bit closer to the lighthouse next time I think. Great work
