@RachelPAV @Tyler_A_Harper Part of why rural people don’t vote is because they don’t see a reason to do so. I think we owe rural communities a conversation and a reason and a passion. I think respecting rural communities is sitting down and saying “some of this shit is backwards”

@RachelPAV @Tyler_A_Harper As a person who loves my backwards space, I think it’s my responsibility to say “I love this place. This isn’t okay.” Of course outsiders can get lost but Texas is my home and it’s my responsibility to care for it. Even if it alienates people.

@RachelPAV @Tyler_A_Harper I guess this is a core difference. I love my hometown but it is backwards. If you don’t think places can be backwards, we just disagree fundamentally. I do agree that no one can speak on my town who hasn’t been there. And of course you can’t talk to us like we’re inferior.
