@MischenJadaril @GigaBasedDad That's false. Mercy is a core part of the story, especially with Gollum. Now, the evil that Gollum and others like Denethor do is never excused, but the reader is meant to have mercy when reading about how they got to that point. That is why Frodo and Sam are such good characters

HOLY SMOKES ! Just finished the Mount Doom chapter and totally forgot that Sam showed pity to Gollum at the last moment -- just like Bilbo did and Frodo did later. Sam got there by remembering his own time with the ring and seeing Gollum's agony!

She recently saw Serkis shooting some test footage. “I was on the mo-cap stage, and I said to Andy, ‘Right, assume the position.'
