In preparation for Valentine’s Day, I agreed to go on a Blind Date tonight! We were set up by the @LCLibrary101 and if you want to participate visit the Downtown location and maybe meet your match! (Brought along my dog for protection) @csittenfeld
If you've never had your civil rights solely dependent on a Supreme Court case, maybe that should serve as a helpful clue that now is the time to listen, not talk.
I’ve read all four by @alicewriterland , and His and Hers might be my fav, though the ending to Sometimes I Lie still messes with my head, but this was still a 5/5. She’s quickly becoming the best. #WhatAreYouReading
@DaveCullen@HillaryClinton I really enjoyed. I was a senior that year as well. I didn’t know so much but certainly shaped much of my adult life and time with school aged kids. The insight it provides really filled in some blanks. The style reminded me of @ByFernandaS book on the Granite Mtn Hotshots.
2021 Reads (4): Lock Every Door my top Book Club pick. @DaveCullen ‘s Columbine breaks down what we thought we knew, and Jeffrey Selingo’s insight to admissions is valuable. Finished out on a high note with the Louise Penny and @HillaryClinton State of Terror & all its suspense.
2021 Reads (3): The Guncle was LOL! Seven Days in June is a great story of romance and healing. I did like The Husbands, by liked her first better. Malibu Rising a pop culture fav, and a quick beach read.
2021 Reads (2): @ByFernandaS recap of the Granite Mt Hotshots reads like a novel and a beautiful tribute. @staceyabrams While Justice Sleeps my FAV of the year! @jeaninecummins American Dirt is hard to put down. Emotions in Acts of Desperation take some time to fully reflect on.
2021 Reads 1 : @ayadakhtar will have you contemplating what’s real v. Fiction. Hidden Valley Road stuck with me all year! @alafairburke deserves a huge TY for her touches on Mary Huggins Clark’s final book. Lucy Foley’s The Guest List 1 of the most read books of last 2 years.
The coolest book club at @LCLibrary101 got a sneak peek read of The Husbands by @cbakerbooks — looking forward to hearing how the others enjoyed it! I read her first book and loved it! This one, maybe slightly less but it keeps you turning pages. #WhatAreYouReading
Tried to buy a car like all the cool kids, but they didn’t even get her unloaded from the @Carvana truck before I refused delivery. Can you see it? I should have noticed it in the original listing photo but assumed it was just the lighting. It wasn’t. Search goes on…
Finished American Dirt by @jeaninecummins and didn’t sleep well afterwards. The emotions it invokes are equally heavy and hopeful. “There’s a blessing in the moments after terror and before confirmation”. 5/5 #WhatAreYouReading@LCLibrary101
Finished up While Justice Sleeps by @staceyabrams this weekend: I LOVED IT! Hope @JillG_Cbus loves it too! A few other things I’ve finished since my last tweet helping to hit my goal of 30 in 2021. #WhatAreYouReading
