@PabloAQuin4054@Theory_Society The point isn't any single method or paper. Could be e.g. 1) publishing in adjacent fields (e.g., economics, general science). 2) applied context where wrong theory/conclusions have real consequences.
New article out on disciplinary survival in @Theory_Society The case is sociology, but might apply wider. It's just that a famous quote gave the opportunity to write it this way. You might not like it, or maybe you do.

New in @Theory_Society, @JukkaSavo and @grumpy_rn argue that criminology has made more theoretical progress than its critics often acknowledge.
What do you think? Read their article here: https://t.co/fXRHzIo3zw
@SJacques83@LessCrime@DavidBuil @AmyNivette Well, just general dislike of critics is enough. People might also ingratiate themselves by too favourable reviews. Bad people not required. Retaliation is less likely, but occasionally relevant.
@JukkaSavo@chrisuggen It is great to see replications in this way. It takes many studies to establish anything, so this is as it should be. We simply need more replications more generally.
Interested in a postdoc position in Oslo? We need someone who preferably knows a lot about data, but also criminological stuff. We're pretty good, but would be delighted if someone more talented than us applies: https://t.co/7yIPnuxle0
The project leaders are super nice.
This is worth reading! To the extent I've seen positional statements in papers, I tend to just skip them. My interest is whether their evidence and arguments hold. To that end, positional statements are uninformative, and potentially misleading.
#Positionality statements do not belong in the research literature.
This is what my coauthors and I argue in the article published in Perspectives on Psychological Science. @PsychScience
Our objections to this growing practice are three-fold (1/6).
