Reported AQI is 272, but it feels 3–4 times worse. Delhi doesn’t deserve this. A capital is meant to be the country’s gateway, its best face to the world. Watching it turn into a gas chamber every year is sad.

An average Delhiite loses nearly 10 years of life compared to clean-air standards. Pulmonologists are suggesting leaving Delhi for a few weeks if one can afford it.

Delhi needs drastic, outcome-oriented action, measures that genuinely improve air, not performative outrage over a 2-day festival, which fades after those two days.
