@MartinGTobias I think with muse commoditizing this space, hyper focused niche ai assistants will be the next thing. An agent heavily trained in your industry with extremely focused context. Instinct/muse still aren’t great on specific difficult tasks. Instinct doing iMessage is a banger tho
@sridharfyi I feel like what I’ve built has and will continue to solve a massive problem for me. Just need help navigating that to others who might need it. Not sure it’s ready but leaning that way.
@dani0805 Similar days here every day. How are you communicating with your teams? Curious to hear your communication workflow and struggles with various languages. Do your teams all speak the languages you know personally?
@Habichtsberg I think you just have to be more selective about your product and quit wishing for a unicorn.
Find a niche, build unique within that niche. Has to be niche enough that big groups adjacent to you wouldn’t try to build, but could benefit them if they purchase from you. Difficult.
@sridharfyi Interpreters are expensive, machine translation mistakes are expensive… my app takes those expenses away. We should be able to communicate better in the age of AI, especially in complex business matters.
@sridharfyi Building the comms layer for cross-border manufacturing. My factories don’t speak English and generic translation has cost me thousands in mistakes. So I built something that learns and remembers the terms, specs, and relationships, honorifics included. No more language barrier.
@codingwithroby It took me a bit to understand this though. My first app I built had like 121,000 lines of code and I was so impressed (so was Claude) but then a full stack buddy of mine RIPPED it to shreds. 😂 So much bloat… dead code, half baked ideas… worth it to learn the right way.
@codingwithroby I am no engineer, I’m the definition of non-technical. I sell clothes for heavens sake. But because I’ve spent time learning how to push back in the planning stages and not just accept the AI’s ideas, I’ve been able to build a few secure, bloat free apps that are very technical.
@koomen Have some insight into custom CRM/communication/order entry, I have built for factories in my industry in 4 different languages with complex order requirements. Happy to help. Sent a DM!
@mhp_guy@sweatystartup I understand the other side and what awaits… and I look forward to it. But… I’m fine waiting and being a support to my children and their children as long as I can.
@mhp_guy@sweatystartup Chris you and I share the same faith but man, I just cannot understand this concept. My dad died young (62), but even if he had died at 75 I’d have still felt shafted. Maybe I’m being selfish but I want myself and my family to live as long as we can. No exceptions.
@mhp_guy Spent years talking to devs to develop a very specific ordering system for my field… got bids from $15k-$45k. Over the last 3 months, I’ve built an incredibly complex system spanning 5 different factories and 4 languages, all using AI translation seamlessly. All done on Replit.
@dirtdog@realDonaldTrump@mfennon Yeah clothing is never going to be made here at any scale and maintain the price people want. Tariffs are simply going to hurt; whether by raising prices on imported PRC goods or trying to match previous prices by going to cheaper countries…. It’s gonna be a rough couple years.
Here's my suggestion for a "Steve Harvey wardrobe." That is, a minimal number of purchases but with the highest impact and most versatility. Like Harvey, I'm only talking about tailored clothing. 🧵
