But what really struck me was this: y’all spent two straight days talking about and promoting your interview with Ken, while posting virtually nothing about the Callais decision on the very day the crown jewel of the Civil Rights Movement was gutted and Jim Crow 2.0 was effectively reborn.
Think about that.
You weren’t the only ones but that silence spoke volumes to a lot of us.
And beyond that, the interview and the fallout from it created a massive distraction that continues to drain time and resources from the DNC: communications staff managing chaos and other stories, fundraising teams dealing with donor anxiety, leadership forced into damage control.
Those are resources and hours that should have been focused on Callais, protecting voting rights, and preparing for the midterms.
