@FreakyFwoof Nope. It's spelled ZX, with a Z. Just as I say "Zeta Equis" when talking about it in Spanish, if your dialect pronounces Z as Zonk, you're definitely entitled to calling it Zonk-Ex. In fact that's pretty cool, I'll call it that from now on! :p
For the office worker who has a need for speed: Volkswagen Norway has unveiled a chair prototype that has a horn, a seatbelt and a top speed of 12 mph. But don't whip out your credit card just yet.
Alright ...guess I'll wait outside while i unleash my very dangerous killer dog into the waiting room. Bring him back when you're done? He hasn't had breakfast yet so mind your fingers. No? Oh, I thought we were doing a ridiculous statement competition :)
This is a huge oversight on Apple's part and I have yet to understand how nobody has thoughtof fixing it. Just apply the standard echo cancellation and noise reduction thingamabobs to the mic feed. Not that hard. VO users basically can't use voice control on speaker.
Phrases about trying to give advice to someone who knows more about it than you:
5. Teach Grandma to suck eggs (English)
4. Teach scriptures to the Buddha (Japanese)
3. Teach an eagle to fly (Russian)
2. Teach a crocodile to swim (Thai)
1. Teach your father to fuck (Finnish)
@mikolysz@msuhr10 That would be a reminder, though I do understand why you would want something a little more like an alarm in terms of a looping alert, for example. Though reminders on iOS stay on your lock screen, which is nice.
@TheQuinbox @mikolysz The problem is that English doesn't necessarily break its own rules too much with the gender-neutral they, it just works the same as it does for plurals AFAIK. Spanish is trying to add a whole new morphological marker, which is... Kinda hard to do artificially.
@TheQuinbox @mikolysz There were efforts in Spanish to artificially create a neuter gender. Which is funny, because Spanish comes from Latin, which did have one, but it wasn't a reintroduction, because it was done differently to how Latin did it. So far it's... Some people use it, the RAE keeps quiet.
@mikolysz @TheQuinbox The great majority of Indoeuropean languages have grammatical gender. English was one of the few where this could start, the necessary adjustments are pretty minimal. But doing this for all the others is going to be difficult.
@TheQuinbox @mikolysz Funny you should mention músico, people can never seem to agree whether saying la música for a female musician is okay, since that literally means the music. It's a little weird. You're right in that it's still pretty gender-heavy though.
@ItsBrynmew @TheQuinbox It is indeed. That was probably me being lazy and doing the bare minimum. Give me a few days to get my life in order and I'll fix it :)
