Here's some bad advice for new PMs: "The job of the PM is not to be liked." It's usually followed by, "the job of the PM is to ensure the goals of the business are achieved." If you're just starting out, this is one of the worst things you could possibly internalize.
If a smart person is not a good problem solver, he/she are incorrectly identified as smart.

Because deep learning is so empirical, success in it is to a large extent proportional to raw experimental throughput - the ability to babysit a large number of experiments at once, staring at plots and tweaking/re-launching what works. This is necessary, but not sufficient.
