New first for @Uber last Friday: 1 million concurrent trips. That’s more than the entire population of San Francisco using our platform - ⚡at the same time ⚡. There are more than 3,000 processes, AI that helps ensure matching, routing, safety, payments, etc. work flawlessly at scale. V proud of our tech team who effortlessly translates huge digital complexity into real-world convenience for 100s of millions of people around the world 🌎!
@epaley This one never falls out because it is 3 prong and has a small cord. You can plug other chargers into it as a bonus. Small and travel friendly. https://t.co/L4ZeedjuP3
1/ Hello from LA 🌞, where I’m meeting with drivers 🚙and couriers 🚗🛒 to announce a new Rider ID feature, changes to our deactivation process, and other app improvements 📲 To be the best platform for flex work, we must be the fairest. Read more here: https://t.co/0jnBikCEFO
@rakeshlobster @joshpuckett In the early 2000’s the script V and M letters were still considered security features with extensive security protocols for the embossing dies at authorized card printers.
@bgurley FDIC went out of its way to do that for future failures in the financial crisis to prevent further contagion but Indymac was the first so it didn’t get that treatment
@bgurley Indymac bank. Depositors lost 50 cents on the dollar above the FDIC limit in 2008. Most of the time the regulators have another bank step in and depositors are made whole but equity and unsecured creditors are wiped out or take a big haircut.
Being candid about the incidents that occur on our platform helps make Uber safer. Today we released our second US Safety Report and we encourage others to follow our lead. Uber will continue to invest in safety in the US and around the world. https://t.co/efTOMihmOu
Hot off the press, @Uber published its 2nd safety report on safety progress and processes. We applaud Uber’s commitment to transparency and safety. This is a gold standard for corporate responsibility. #endimpaireddriving#saferides https://t.co/AgxH8age3G
@bgurley It also greatly reduces the value of a stolen appleid which could otherwise be monetized by a fraudulent developer selling in app goods and cashing out quickly. Lower fraud pressure enables lower friction experiences for good users.
@bgurley It is true, but I view it as a way of managing developer fraud not a way of generating float. Nearly all credit card chargebacks will have come in by the time they pay out.
Wow - great when data backs up instinct - a new study in JAMA that shows @Uber's impact on reducing drinking and driving. Thank u 🙏🏽 to those who drive with Uber—and all designated drivers—for helping millions get home safely. https://t.co/u3AylOM0dl
@soychemist Our local fire department recently did a test with the @rachioco API where the fire department can control residential sprinklers to help in a fire.
