محمد عون جس نے سب سے پہلے دہشت گرد کو روکنے کی کوشش کی اور اپنی جان انسانیت کے لیے قربان کر دی۔

عون عباس، بیس اکیس سالہ یہ نوجوان اس وقت نماز ادا کر رہا تھا جب فائرنگ کی آواز سنائی دی۔ خطرے کے اس لمحے میں اس نے اپنی نماز توڑی اور حملہ آور کو ہال میں داخل ہونے سے روکنے کی کوشش کی۔

عینی شاہدین کے مطابق، حملہ آور فائرنگ کرتا ہوا امام بارگاہ کے ہال کی جانب بڑھ رہا تھا کہ عون عباس نے اس کا راستہ روک لیا۔ اسی دوران خودکش بمبار نے خود کو دھماکے سے اڑا دیا۔ اگر حملہ آور صفوں کے درمیان داخل ہو جاتا تو جانی نقصان کہیں زیادہ ہو سکتا تھا۔ اس دھماکے میں عون عباس موقع پر ہی جان کی بازی ہار گئے۔

امام بارگاہ کے امام راجہ بشارت حسین کے مطابق، کئی نمازیوں نے تصدیق کی کہ فائرنگ کے بعد عون عباس نے نماز توڑ کر حملہ آور کا راستہ روکا اور یوں اپنی جان دے کر دوسروں کی جانیں بچائیں۔

عون عباس ترلائی کے رہائشی تھے اور اپنے کزن شعیب کے ساتھ رہتے تھے، جو ان کے سرپرست بھی تھے۔ ان کے والد دیہاڑی پر ٹیکسی چلاتے ہیں۔ محلے کے لوگ بتاتے ہیں کہ عون عباس کا بچپن ان کی آنکھوں کے سامنے گزرا۔ وہ ایک سادہ، خاموش طبع اور غیر نمایاں نوجوان تھے۔ حال ہی میں انہیں روزگار کے سلسلے میں بیرونِ ملک بھیجنے کی تیاری کی جا رہی تھی اور وہ متعلقہ ٹیسٹ بھی پاس کر چکے تھے۔
