I've explained this already numerous times, but because @MattWalshBlog has no actual interest in the truth and reality, beyond what it can offer him in terms of a platform, power, and profit, he chooses to ignore it.

Women have been ending pregnancies since the dawn of time. No one ever "decided" it was ok, not ok, legal, or not legal, until relatively recently in human history—indeed, around when midwives were criminalized (midwives used to support women in ending pregnancies—again, long before feminism was a thing) and men took control of the medical establishment, to women's detriment in many and most ways.

Feminism didn't exist for most of human history and yet... ending pregnancies did! It was part of women's lives long before any 'wave'. It was simply "birth control" before "birth control" became a cash cow for Big Pharma. We have known our our bodies and reproductive systems worked for eons—again, long before feminism, doctors, or Big Pharma intervened.

Ending pregnancies is part of life, whether you like it or not. It always has been and always will.

Pregnancies exist in and are inextricably connected to women's bodies. They would not exist without women and their bodies. And you don't get to decide what women do with their own bodies, unless of course you are invested in creating a draconian society void of bodily sovereignty.

Abortion was, for most of human history, not something performed by doctors, in clinics or hospitals. It was something women did on their own or with the support of other women.

How dare you create a platform dunking on people for female erasure and claiming to be invested in (re)defining the word "woman" as "adult human females" when you can't be bothered to learn the bare minimum about women's history, bodies, lives, and interests.

You should try learning a thing or two about the thing you purport to be so concerned with before advertising your ignorance.

You are, as you almost always are, so far out of your league it's funny.

No specific policies, but a few thoughts:

1) start from the premise that they’re smart, thoughtful people who care about their families, communities, and country, and came to different conclusions about how to do that. (Largely informed by their bubbles. Just like everyone else.)

2) Engage in humble, mutual inquiry. To honestly try to understand how they arrived at their perspective.

3) Figure out how to find middle ground, even if that means moving closer to the center.

4) At no point sinking to insulting their intelligence or character, even if they do the same.

In a small number of cases, such screenings can indicate a need for follow-up tests as part of standard medical care with associated duty of care and support.”
