If they want to see the average Ghanaian prosper in this enriched land of manganese, gold, aluminum, timber, cocoa etc they'll do the work. But no. They selfishly place themselves into positions of power where they lack the expertise, create businesses to "solve problems" but rather end up pocketing profits. And the youth are continuing that cycle. 😭

WeaveVM testnet v0: EVM compatibility & SmartWeave in blobspace (ERC-7689). 📃

The WeaveVM testnet v0 will support both traditional EVM and @mem_tech / SmartWeave-style contracts.

⚡️ EVM on WeaveVM

Ethereum is the gold standard for blockchain compute, but the world computer doesn't have a hard drive.

WeaveVM addresses the on-node storage bottleneck of EVM chains by offloading storage to @ArweaveEco, the world's only permanent storage chain. This enables new use cases for fully onchain dApps with data that can be natively computed by the chain's execution environment, and reduces third party trust assumptions.

Interacting with WeaveVM will be the same as any EVM chain, including MetaMask support, ERC20 tokens, and L1 <> L2 bridges. We ensured existing EVM dApps like Uniswap and Aave can be deployed 1:1 on WeaveVM and take advantage of its radically improved approach to storage.

🪄 SmartWeave on WeaveVM (ERC-7689)

WeaveVM is a sovereign EVM rollup that settles to Arweave, not Ethereum. Built on reth, WeaveVM has blobspace capacity for "smart blobs" -- a novel use of blobspace DA that enables SmartWeave-style contracts like @mem_tech functions to make use of native EVM functionality and EVM DA while executing extremely flexible computation offchain on a https://t.co/NnQ12LeDWH node.

With this feature, WeaveVM supports both EVM and SmartWeave contracts in a context that can make strong DA guarantees, easily decentralize, and make calls off to data from any chain, oracle, or web2 source.

WeaveVM is getting ready for testnet. Follow along as we build hyperscalable EVM compute on top of the only permanent storage chain.

WeaveVM will unlock fully onchain storage for EVM applications at any scale. Unlike other EVM chains which offer no incentive for archival storage and can cost up to $50,000 per mb of data stored, 1mb costs ~$0.02 on WeaveVM.

As well as unlocking totally new kinds of EVM applications that depend on computing large data sets, WeaveVM will enable ERC20s, battle-tested token standards and Ethereum's financial primitives on @ArweaveEco for the first time.
