New Mexico’s name isn’t up for debate — it’s been ours since before the United States existed.
While the President tries to distract Americans from his disastrous war in Iran, the price of gas —and everything else — keeps rising.
Under Democratic leadership here in New Mexico, we’re providing families with free childcare and college, protecting access to health care and investing in housing. While the White House wastes time coloring on maps, Nuevo México is busy doing the work. 🌶️

“I wanna be surrounded by people who share the same outrage and disgust over what we're witnessing, and if you're not enraged, then I don't wanna be friends.”
for pride month id like to repost this video where this lovely person went all the way to palestine after receiving comments that Palestinians would kill them if they were openly queer over there.
An absolute amazing story about our Uncle Bud, and it is touching that so many people get to hear his story. Thanks Celia for experiencing and sharing such an important part of our family history! His legacy lives on❤️
🧵 1️⃣ When my in-laws booked their flight to Berlin (which would be their first trip abroad), my husband and I told them, “We can get a cheap flight or train ticket to almost anywhere. Where in Europe would you like to go?”
Without hesitating, my father-in-law said, “Lorraine.”
1/4 This nonsense needs refuting. I am a Jewish Professor @stonybrooku. My family includes survivors of Auschwitz, refugees who escaped fascism, victims of the Warsaw Ghetto, and many who perished in their Shtetl. I protest against Israel's genocide because...
Yesterday, Joe Biden included trespassing in his description of violent and disruptive protest, saying it was not okay. In 1960, four young black men refused to leave Woolworth's lunch counter in Greensboro, North Carolina, in violation of the law. They were trespassing on private property and being disruptive. MLK was arrested for the same thing in Atlanta. Those arrested were charged with trespassing. MLK was sentenced to 6 months hard labor.
If Joe Biden were president then, he would have told the protesters to go home. JFK was a Senator running for president then- he actually made phone calls to get MLK out of his jail sentence.
The point of protest is to be disruptive. Civil Disobedience literally means breaking the law. Kudos to the protesters of the 1960s and of today who understand what it takes for justice to prevail.
Maybe, just maybe, the mainstream media can focus a little less on colleges for a moment. Maybe they can take their cameras to Gaza and show us the emaciated children who are dying of malnutrition due to Netanyahu’s policies. Maybe they can show us the suffering going on there.
🚨UPDATE: Cornel West has joined the students occupying the West Lawn at Columbia University in support and solidarity with the students arrested in the Gaza Solidarity Encampment and the Palestinian struggle!!!
