Honoured to meet President @PaulKagame. I thanked him for his leadership in maintaining high vaccine coverage across #Rwanda, effective primary health care and for his role in championing pandemic planning, preparedness and response. I also expressed gratitude for co-hosting our #GaviLeap 6.0 readiness workshop in Kigali this week. Rwanda’s recognised excellence in health and innovation makes it an ideal venue for our workshop as we look ahead to a future in which successful health outcomes are driven increasingly by countries, actively supported by institutions such as @Gavi.
#Rwanda recognized by the @WorldBankGroup as a top performer on the Human Capital Index Plus (HCI+).
With a score of 157, well above regional averages, the country continues to invest in people to drive inclusive growth.
#ADPE in collaboration with @HuyeDistrict, top-performing graduates in construction, electronics, and fashion design, were awarded prizes, and certificates of recognition by the Vice Mayor in charge of Social Affairs @KAnnonciata.
“Our lives were worth nothing. That’s fine. For Rwandans, the lessons have been brutal, and have not been forgotten. If our lives do not happen to align with someone else’s interests, they are not worth saving.
And so it had to be the Rwandan Patriotic Army that led the Campaign against Genocide, and ended it. Our deepest source of grief, was always that we could not arrive earlier.
This is a simple truth of history, which many today still have reservations about acknowledging, for reasons we do not understand.
The culture and character of today’s Rwanda Defence Force was forged in those dramatic moments.
It guides the conduct of our forces who serve abroad in peacebuilding missions, earning universal respect.
Indeed, no sanctions or insult from outside, can ever tarnish the honour and integrity of Rwanda’s defence and security forces, who are among the finest that can be found anywhere.” President Kagame | #Kwibuka32

On the International Day of Reflection on the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi in Rwanda, we mourn the victims & pay tribute to the survivors.
We must learn from past failures & protect the living — by rejecting hatred, inflammatory rhetoric & incitement to violence.
Make new friends, but keep the old.
A new photo captures the Moon's near side on the right (the side we see from Earth, identifiable by its dark splotches) and its far side on the left. The Artemis II crew are the first to see the far side with human eyes.
Congratulations to Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen for traveling farther from Earth than any human beings in history; you make the rest of us proud! @NASA and their partners have always pushed the bounds of scientific discovery and today is no different. A momentous day for humankind! Safe travels, Artemis II. @NASAArtemis

It was inspiring to watch the Artemis II launch yesterday — @NASA’s first crewed mission around the moon since 1972. Our space program has always captured an essential part of what it means to reach beyond what we thought was possible, and I hope the four brave astronauts on this mission will inspire a new generation to follow in their footsteps.
This afternoon at Urugwiro Village, President Kagame received graduate students and fellows from the Harvard Kennedy School, various Harvard University schools, as well as the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, who are concluding their week-long Harvard Rwanda Trek 2026.
