12.45 pm news @m6info : how can we analyse & demystify AI-generated videos of humanoids? I was interviewed as an expert in #humanoid robotics to discuss their potential & limitations, as well as the role of ‘mule’ robots in operational contexts, cf #Ukraine. #Defence#Défense
POV: you built a robot dog in your bedroom. 🐶🤖
Meet Pupper, from @Stanford! We hooked it up to @GoogleAIStudio's Gemini Live API and the Gemini Robotics-ER model so it can actually understand and react to the world.
And you can even build it yourself!

Vietnam's humanoids are going global.
Vingroup, the Southeast Asian country's largest private conglomerate, has launched at least three humanoid subsidiaries since late 2024. VinRobotics was the first to be established in November 2024 with around $40 million in funding. The company has since introduced at least five industrial robot prototypes, including its new open-source humanoid platform for developers to build and test robot skills faster. Its humanoids have started working at VinFast, the conglomerate's EV division, for scenario testing before wider-scale deployments.
Another subsidiary, VinMotion launched in early 2025, also with around $40 million in initial capital, to develop a general-purpose humanoid. The robotics firm unveiled its first prototype just a few months later and its production ready humanoid, the Motion2, in early 2026. They're moving toward mass production for later this year while establishing a presence in Southern California to tap into US robotics talent.
The third robotics company, Vin Dynamics, launched in September 2025 with around $20 million in funding. Its flagship humanoid, Dyno, recently started working as a guide for Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc. At the Vingroup-controlled safari, the robot communicates with visitors using its speech, gestures, and cute expressions on its screenlike face.
VinDynamics is preparing a global push, partnering with international suppliers like Germany's Schaeffler to improve motion systems needed for overseas markets.

Introducing RX-1, our experimental European robotics platform. Every step the quadruped takes is a step toward Europe’s technological sovereignty. We make it available to academic labs across Europe.
McKinsey humanoid supply chain mapping:
Confirms that Actuators are set to be the key battleground for mass production.
Coupled with BofA analysis where Actuators = 51% total BOM.
A few companies have overlap in different Actuator parts like:
-> Harmonic Drive Systems (6324)
-> Nabtesco Corp (6268)
-> THK (6481)
-> Schaeffler
I'm close to picking 1-2 names for exposure.
HDS are the glaringly obvious pick though, purely from a supply chain overlap POV.
Symmetry is everywhere in nature, from the bilateral form of vertebrates to the radial geometry of starfish. For decades, roboticists have tried to copy these shapes and their abilities with bodies that look like humans, dogs or insects.
Now, roboticists at Duke University argue that what really matters isn’t how a robot looks, but how uniformly it can act in any dimension in space. Guided by this concept, the team simulated more than 1,500 robot configurations to arrive at a design approaching their theoretical maximum.
The result is Argus: a robot with no front, no back and 20 modular, telescoping legs radiating out from the central core, each tipped with a depth camera. With a resemblance closer to a sea urchin than any commercial robot, the design proved robust.
Argus easily traverses forests, wet surfaces and sand; self-stabilizes quickly after being pushed; reorients instantly in any direction; climbs vertically between close walls; and even carries and pushes payloads around a given space.

Yes it's AI. Unnatural moves for a humanoid robot of today. Totally AI generated movements based on human body, not a mechanical one, even with moments of doubts and impulses.
Plus the @UnitreeRobotics G1 is smaller than this AI version, and cannot yet lift 15kg car tires.
