For the first time in almost 10 years, we had a Winter Pep Rally! Cougars were happy to celebrate our winter sports, compete in 4v4 Teacher vs. Student Bball, Hula Hoop Relay, and crown first-ever Ice Ball Royalty. New tradition? ❄️ #NCCVTworks#CougarNation@drcomegys
Congratulations to the Delcastle Girls Basketball team for taking 3rd place at the DMA Tournament this weekend with a 37-22 victory over Tri-State Christian Academy! 🏀👏🏼 The ladies improve to a record of 1-1. Go Cougars! #nccvtworks@delcastle_ths
Great day in Ms. Halpin’s discussing the American Imperialism!!! Students were given many opportunities to analyze and make inferences. #Delcastle @delcastle_ths
Hey Dr. B! 👋🏼 I know it’s been a minute... but @FinleyBowman I found this book about the troubles in N. Ireland. Have you read it yourself? Thought I’d give it a try! #ecedforpeace
@Elise93763615 The Google apps are easy ways to encourage collaboration with members of a group. I try to incorporate both tech and no tech with group work. The graphic organizer is online for them to each add to, but the sources for each group are hard copies. #wuedt6020
@DavidSten4 It's always good to have conversations with other teachers to determine the relevancy. Most of the educational tech applications I have used were from recommendations of other teachers. I also agree that students play a huge part in the relevancy in their learning. #wuedt6020
@EricRisner8 I try to go through my own "tech checklist" of strategies I know to see if I can quickly fix it. If not, our librarian and tech dept. allows students to drop their Chromebook off to be looked at and are given a loaner. However, the supply of loaners is quite limited! #wuedt6020
@Msbrindley1 I like to use gaming apps like #Quizlet, #Kahoot, #Gimkit. These tools allow students to 'gamify' the reviewing process. Students have a lot of fun competing against each other while reviewing! #wuedt6020
@ptc133 This is a tough one! Google Drive is great to assign online documents to students. However, they are also easily able to share with multiple users. Every change in semester or year, I delete the Schoology folders my students have access to. This prevents copy cats #wuedt6020
@DavidSten4@McCoolWILMu@iEARNUSA I like how with the iEARN project not only can you and your students connect with various classroom partners, but students can also display their work. This is a great collaborative social media app to allow all types of students to connect on any number of levels.
@EricRisner8@McCoolWILMu It is nice to see the work and products that students create in our classrooms. In a way its a digital showcase of their work without physically having to be there or in your classroom space to see what they are doing.
@McCoolWILMu I’m not sure if it’s considered a social media app, but it does help connect w/ my students. It’s called Remind. This app allows real time one-way communication with my students about assessment or assignment reminders. It’s a great way to communicate reminders #wuedt6020
