This is the message everyone should be taking home from today’s despicable announcement.
The number of people of working age with a health condition or a disability is going up.
And not because they’ve all suddenly become work-shy scroungers🙄
Long (sorry!) 🧵

@NyeAbigail I have a cardiology 3 which has the paeds diaphragm on the back. Tubing broke after 5 years but still under warranty so repaired! Has lasted another 5 but is going again now
@Master75272373 First time is a possible oversight. This tweet however is intentionally targeted. Take a look at yourself and think about what you're trying to achieve because to everyone else it's clearly not positive
@DoctorRach13@SueGrah456 When I was there it very much felt like sort out the living standards inequality, then look at genetic susceptibility. Most countries dropped their rates of RF with improved living conditions
Sad to read in the news about a child’s death from invasive Group A Streptococcus (iGAS)
But the articles I’ve seen have been somewhat inaccurate and confused!
So I thought perhaps a little 🧵

🚨 NEW: Ambulance took more than 30 mins to reach dying baby - 8 mins to answer the 999 call. From next week, 2 NHS ambulance trusts plan to downgrade some emergency calls as crisis deepens:

@DoctorJLam Yep, when someone shouts at me about waiting times etc I've started agreeing they should be angry and suggesting they shout at their MP instead given they're the only one with any power over the situation
Now we've lifted the lid on the #SewageScandal we expect more transparency on the state of UK waters. And then @SouthernWater go and do this...
I don't know about you but we're absolutely furious 🤬
RT to demand water companies #EndSewagePollution now! https://t.co/XsiiiaWaPT
Here's your weekly reminder that 10 years ago the NHS was the best healthcare system in the world, ranked number 1 by the @commonwealthfnd. A decade of Tory underfunding and criminal grade neglect has delivered the crisis we're in.
#SOSNHS
Got caught in this last night along with kids, surf lifesavers, swimmers and lots of other surfers. No warning or advice to tell anyone in the water or on the beach (no mobile signal). Absolute disgrace and threat to public health dumping 💩 on people as they enjoyed the coast.
💩 ALERT!
🚨🚨🚨 Our Safer Seas & Rivers Service is once again lighting up with warnings of sewage pollution around our coastlines. Why should we be put at risk of getting sick by simply being in the sea? It's time water companies clean up their act and #EndSewagePollution.
Playing children are noisy. Drowning children can’t make sound. Drowning starts above the water. It could happen right next to you. When in doubt, ask someone if they are ok. If they can’t/don’t answer, you may have less than 30 seconds to help them.
@_katieknight_ @rhiannonlucyc@RCPCHtweets@AssocPEM@LondonPaeds@Damian_Roland Not sure about anticipating a surge in numbers specifically, but we have early help workers based in our ED now to direct families to any financial help they can access. Anticipating huge numbers who are unable to adequately feed their children or heat their homes.
