NEMA STEERS MT. ELGON PROJECT TOWARDS LASTING IMPACT
@nemaug’s Mt. Elgon Project Steering Committee is, Friday 21st August, meeting at Mt. Elgon Hotel to review progress, assess delivery against project commitments and provide strategic guidance as the project enters its final phase.
The meeting brings together the Project Coordinator and @nemaug Commissioner for Environment Planning and Coordination Francis Ogwal, @theGEF Task Manager Jane Nimpamya; Chief Administrative Officers from the nine project areas; and representatives from @MAAIF_Uganda.
The project promotes biodiversity conservation, climate resilience and sustainable rural livelihoods by strengthening value chains for coffee, maize, beans, bananas and Irish potatoes.
As implementation draws to a close, the committee is focused on consolidating gains, addressing outstanding challenges and setting priorities for lasting benefits to communities and the Mt. Elgon landscape.

NEMA, PARTNERS CHART MT. ELGON’S RESTORATION PATH
@nemaug, project partners and the Global Environment Facility (GEF) are meeting in Mbale to review three years of ecosystem restoration and livelihood interventions across the Mt. Elgon landscape.
The meeting, attended by GEF Task Manager Jane Nimpamya, is taking stock of achievements, challenges and lessons while setting priorities for the way forward.
The project supports biodiversity conservation, climate resilience and sustainable rural livelihoods through improved coffee, maize, beans, bananas and Irish potato value chains.
