@_villVlliv_@AaronBastani Why call people thick when you are using AI for something anyone can check themselves?
That response is also wrong, she posted exactly what you're looking for on June 10th, just 2 days ago. This is why they teach against this method of research in school (primary school btw)
@Nigel60007@implausibleblog@snevinoj Most people I knew who grew up about 50 years ago had far more access to youth clubs than children do today.
Since the post-war era, government initiatives for such things have undoubtedly declined
@Nox_Daemon@Suinarya Yeah, it's nothing much more than him just saying that.
I don't think he has the power to force councils to approve these decisions. It's possible that in Labour majority councils he might actually have some power, but I'm not sure how much
@_Riddock_ This is about licenses for extended opening hours and planning permission for outdoor screens.
You have to go back many decades for permission not to be required for these things
@Suinarya@Nox_Daemon I hate Starmer just as much as the next guy, but he is absolutely doing us a favour in this case.
My local council would have never approved these plans otherwise, and still might not
@JoeLever89 Polanski might not have control over if the candidate steps down, but who else would be negotiating with Burnham?
The only way I see them stepping aside is if Polanski presents them with some kind of concrete evidence that it significantly benefits the party at a national level
@ramonagusta@RationalVo1ce@PolitlcsUK Why are you not an MP if it's an easy job that pays so well?
People say this about doctors all the time, clearly none of them actually believe it's easy
@JGarrettdesigns@ToBeDamnedOrNot@PolitlcsUK Doctors aren't allowed to drink on the job not just because they are less physically coordinated while dealing with patients.
It's the impairment of judgement that's the issue
