ON THIS DAY 8th SEPTEMBER 1973
A young Brian McLaughlin (who had the potential to be a true Celtic great ) suffered a cynical assault by Willie McVie of Clyde which finished his career at the highest level – very sad indeed. ☘️☘️☘️
Genuine pic of the incident, and still many will say it doesn’t hit the guys hand.
This is the kind of delusion you are up against.
It’s really a very simple incident to break down.
Big shout-out to Liam Carrigan for showing so much bravery in speaking about his cancer diagnosis on today’s show.
We are all right behind you big man 💚
Last thing I will say about the transfers window, for anyone that seriously thinks the window was a success, finishing the game with Dane Murray right back, Scales left back and Forrest and Tounetki on both wings proves beyond a reasonable doubt that it was absolutely not. Ken
The issue here is whoever’s on VAR can select a frame to suit their own narrative. For as long as tight offside calls are decided by officials drawing lines manually, you’ll never be able to 100% trust the outcome.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭? 🍀💻
In 25/26 Celtic scored 10 goals from set-pieces in all comps from 59 matches.
26/27 set piece goals stand at 3 goals in 8 after Liam Scales scored last night.
Is Ross Grant's arrival as set-piece coach already having an impact?
I like to think I post a lot of good photos here, but this one is up there for me ⛰️
It's quintessential Ireland, in a photo 💚

Hollanda liginde cinayet girişimi
PSV li Van bommel rakibi Aaron Bouwman a kafa göz daldı
Bouwman ölümden döndü
Önce kırık var zannedildi
Hastanede akciğer ve boyun ezilmesi yaşadığı anlaşıldı
4 hafta sahalardan uzak kalacak
Bu pozisyonda van Bommel sarı kart gördü
VAR devreye girmedi
I mean
Durán’s goal ruled offside with a dodgy VAR line
Scales two handed shove not penalised
Mheuka’s goal ruled offside with an application of VAR that I’ve genuinely never seen in my life
But we’re supposed to get all the decisions? 🤔
@celticCSL@Heavidor Agree with all of this. But imo the biggest problem is how we spend the money and the lack of a coherent strategy to spend the money.
Brother Walfrid did not found our club to feed the East End because he accepted the East End’s place in the food chain.
Willie Maley did not give 43 years to building it because he thought the ceiling was already set.
Jock Stein did not take eleven men born within thirty miles of Celtic Park and win the European Cup because he had accepted that clubs like ours do not win things like that.
Every one of them was told the same thing we are told now. The money is elsewhere. The league is the league. You work within what you have.
They refused it. That refusal is the club. It is the only thing that has ever made Celtic different from a well run business in the green and white sector.
The last published accounts show £77.2m in the bank and £17.8m of pre-tax profit. That is not a club under pressure. That is a club that has decided the pressure belongs to somebody else.
Sustainability is a floor. It is what stops you falling through, and after 1994 we needed one. Somewhere in the last twenty years it got quietly turned into a ceiling. A defensive position became the strategy, and now we are invited to be grateful for the balance sheet as though the balance sheet were the point.
Nobody is arguing for recklessness. There is a long distance between recklessness and this, and we are parked at the wrong end of it.
The question is not whether Celtic can compete in Europe. It is whether anyone at the top of this club still thinks it is worth trying.

My main question from last night... what is 'enough of a push' now?
Scales is going to head this ball, there is no reason for him not to. The defender has both hands on his back, pushing him enough so he can't get his head on the ball.
Nisbet penalised for the same thing, no?
Camilo Duran offside goal most outrageous act of cheating with offside since Jorge Cadete! Don Robertson has used an image where the ball has not even left Yang's foot - you cannot even see the ball in the image Robertson has used. Duran clearly onside. OUT & OUT CHEAT!
In a Scottish football match tonight match officials disallowed a goal for offside using a frame in which you CANNOT see the ball & disallowed another goal for offside via VAR when VAR couldn’t draw the lines & then IGNORED the on field decision & re-refereed the incident!!!!
