“A struggle without documentation is no struggle.” – Peter Magubane
Our great activist photographer has taken his last photo. We salute Ntate Magubane for his activism, and for documenting the struggle against apartheid and Nelson Mandela’s presidency.

@TroveAustralia Trove allowed me to uncover Betty Bryant’s early career before ‘Forty Thousand Horsemen’ (1940). I could then finally attribute unrecognised recordings and even her work as a Cinesound film extra alongside Gough Whitlam in @NFSAonline s collection https://t.co/khvKQFH93R
Do not miss #Latecomers at 8:30pm on @SBS tonight! I’m not saying this because the lead & co-creator Angus Thompson is my cousin (knowing him, he’ll likely be the worst thing in it). Honestly, do yourself a favour and just watch some very awesomely made Australian telly!
Motivated by a mix of passion and profession, @NFSAonline@LaurenCurless asks are AV archivists currently facing identity crisis’ in the digital content age? Adaptability and evolution are key. #HereWeAre2022
@beet_keeper We put a prominent content warning on the Australians at War Film Archive homepage. It hyperlinks to a deeper explanation in the FAQs but unique records aren’t identified.
Me, an #archivist, watching Elizabeth Moss play an archivist in #ShiningGirls slowly realising they mean ‘archivist’ to be the very worst and lowliest of professions that only losers that have hit rock bottom in life would be left to…I am dead, bury me in the #archives
As it was shot in rural Victoria, production for the Aussie film #TheDressmaker starring #KateWinslet and @LiamHemsworth was disrupted several times due to wild emus interrupting scenes 🏜 #fAACTA
That’s the problem with kids these days.
No focus.
Peter Weirs film is brilliant. An exacting, detail oriented, epic tale of fidelity to Empire & service, regardless of the cost.
Incredible cinematography by Russell Boyd & a majestic soundtrack.
Definitely an adults movie.
