🚨 ANIMAL CRUELTY CONVICTION: VICKY FOWLES, 44, FROM LOWESTOFT, SUFFOLK 🚨
Fowles was convicted of cruelty to six Chihuahua‑type dogs found dead inside a property on Rotterdam Road, #lowestoft. The tiny pets had suffered for weeks without food, water or human contact.
An estate manager entered the house Fowles was due to vacate and found it in an “atrocious condition” — dog mess across the ground floor, an overwhelming stench, and the bodies of multiple dogs hidden inside the home and garden shed.
A vet confirmed that all six dogs died due to prolonged starvation and dehydration, with additional signs of neglect including:
— Overgrown nails
— Psychological distress from isolation and deprivation
— Suffering lasting several weeks before death
RSPCA Inspector Kirby said: “It is heartbreaking to think that these poor dogs were just abandoned and left to suffer what would have been a harrowing death and that their deaths were completely unnecessary and avoidable.”
⚖ Sentence
— 12‑month prison sentence, suspended for two years
— Lifetime ban on keeping animals
— 20 rehabilitation activity days
— 12‑month mental health treatment requirement
— £300 costs + £187 victim surcharge
The offences took place between 10 February and 4 April 2025.
Fowles admitted responsibility, citing alcohol addiction and a deteriorating lifestyle. But six dogs still died alone, starving, hidden in bags and baskets, with no one coming to help them. Heartbreaking and unforgiveable.

#UK One of the worse cases yet!! 💔💔💔
ANIMAL CRUELTY CONVICTION: NATHAN RACE (38), & JADE RACE / BOYD (36), CHILTON /FERRYHILL, COUNTY DURHAM 🚨
There was a “strong smell of death” inside a County Durham home where six dogs and three rabbits were found dead — victims of prolonged, preventable neglect.
RSPCA Inspector Clare Wilson attended the Ford Terrace property on 16 September last year after a report of dead animals in cages. What she found was horrific:
Inside the house
• Thousands of flies covering an upstairs window
• A deceased dog lying behind the kitchen door
• Five dogs dead in filthy crates, bodies decomposed or mummified
• A sixth dog, Mila, who chewed her way out of a cage before dying alone in the living room
• Three rabbits dead in plastic hutches filled with thick, mouldy layers of faeces
• Empty, dry bowls and water bottles
• Faeces spilling out of crates and across floors
• Rubbish, food tins and bags strewn across every surface
• A toilet with low, dirty water — believed to be the only water source Mila could reach
Inspector Wilson said: “There was a strong smell of death and faeces… flies were buzzing around everywhere.”
At a connected property in West Cornforth, officers found:
• Birds in dirty cages with filthy water and broken feathers
• Reptiles in vivariums with heat but no lighting
• Nine ferrets in barren, dirty cages with no enrichment or water
• Midnight, an emaciated young rabbit whose bones were “spiky” to the touch
• Two young dogs, Nova and Oreo, underweight and neglected
A vet confirmed the nine deceased animals “suffered unnecessarily” and died due to lack of food and water, with suffering ongoing for at least three days.
The defendants
When asked what animals need from their owners, Nathan and Jade Race replied:
“Attention, food, water, love.”
They provided none of it.
Court outcome (Durham Crown Court, July 31)
• Nathan Race, #Westcornforth
– 20‑month prison sentence, suspended
– 180 hours unpaid work
– 30‑day rehabilitation activity
• Jade Race / Boyd — West Cornforth
– 12‑month prison sentence, suspended
– 40‑day rehabilitation activity
• Both banned from keeping animals for life
Inspector Wilson said she was relieved the pair can never legally own animals again.
The survivors
Nova, Oreo and Midnight made full recoveries and were adopted.
Birds were taken to Lincolnshire Wildlife Park and Jax’s Ark.
Exotic pets were placed in specialist care.
