Just a reminder that some genuinely f*cked up agencies exist.
My brother got fired today from an agency he's worked at for over a year because he was Indian.
He was one of their first static ad designers.
Over the last year, he made 1,000+ ads that spent over $1M+ in ad spend.
Later, They moved him up to a senior static design role.
A few hours ago, they removed multiple people who worked from the same country and said it was because "the timings didn't match."
The timings matched for over a year. The timings matched when they promoted him.
But now it's suddenly a problem.
I've worked there as a CS and I left within weeks. And the people I work with know that I work my ass off without complaining one bit about it.
Today's situation didn't surprise me.
Not here to crib about it. My brother is a savage. He will find another brand/agency to ball with for sure (on the hunt now).
For anyone who needs it: if people push you away for who you are and what you stand for, it shows a lot more about them. And if you make a decision to stand up for yourself, it shows a lot more about you.
2 slots re-opened.
We thought we had 2 killers. They didn’t have what it takes.
NOT FOR THE SOFT. No balance. No weekends. No hand holding.
But if you’re built different: insane levels of support and training in a culture of bros and Chads scaling brands hard alongside you. I will personally be fighting frontline in the trenches with you.
We run up $1.5-2M daily ad spend for the fastest growing CPG brands on earth. Small group training starts soon on real media buying, creative, and scaling to 9 figures.
**MUST BE WILLING TO GRIND LATE NIGHT EST TIMEZONE**
@Bbruhis@codyplof I worked with Cody a while back, but if I’m being honest, it was only for about a month. Back then, my ad quality wasn’t anywhere near where it is now.
Still, I reached out to him as well to see if we could work together again. Thank you king :)
6 months ago, I sent a message to @hirefireteam asking if he’d ever hire someone with a portfolio like mine.
I told him “I want to learn from the best. Experience and guidance is the bigger picture.”
Within 24 hours, I had a contract in hand as a freelance static designer.
Today, I part ways with the team. It’s been a great ride. Got to work with some cool brands, learned more on Creative Strategy than I could've picked up anywhere else, and we're parting on good terms.
Jess took a chance on me and I won't forget anyone who gives me a chance to prove myself.
What’s next?
Same as before. I want to work with the best creative teams and learn as much as I can.
A few things I mentioned a long time ago that I still believe stands true:
1. The moment you start speaking up and being yourself, things shift.
2. Reach out to your mentors. They don’t win by watching you lose
3. You can have all the money in the world but if you don't have God, you are the poorest to walk the Earth.
4. "Everything is possible for one who believes" - Mark 9:23
5. Pressure is a privilege. Be yourself. Keep going.
@LordofAds@HireFireTeam haha fortunately not the case. do we use Ai? we sure do. is it replacing people? definitely not. atleast not at fireteam. human connection woth ads is still preserved 🫡
$178k spent on one ad alone, 3,550 purchases.
People keep sleeping on statics.
Sometimes the simplest creative wins.
The team (just me) just keeps cooking and I don't see it stopping anytime soon.
If you're not testing statics alongside your video you're leaving money on the table.
PROPAGANDA I’M PUSHING:
- all limitations are self imposed
- you can do anything, get anything and achieve anything you want in life if you take action
- if you don't believe you have what it takes, then your subconscious will do everything it can to prove that you're right
- taste and authenticity will help you redefine your creativity
- play one physical sport
- sunlight
- hand write copy to rewire your brain and build intuition
- diversify your income
PROPAGANDA I’M PUSHING:
- persuasion is the one skill that transfers to every area of your life
- learning how to sell stuff online is the closest thing to a cheat code for freedom
- selling is a noble thing to do when you believe in what you’re selling
- nobody’s going to hand you the life you want, build it yourself
- the best investment you’ll ever make is in a skill that compounds
- you can sell without pressure, without hype, and without making promises you can’t keep
- be patient with your progress, be brutal with your standards
- read widely, not just marketing books
- talk to people who are nothing like you
- find a mentor who tells you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear
- understand people before you try to sell to them
- the best Copywriters are students of human nature first and writers second
- learn the psychology before you learn the frameworks
- your ability to think clearly is your moat
- AI is a tool, use it like one and stop pretending it thinks for you
- if you can’t judge AI’s output, AI is making you worse not better
- character beats talent
- raise your standards before you raise your rates
- the best sale is the one where the buyer thinks it was their idea
- research is most of the job, the writing is the last stretch
- one strong argument beats ten decent ones
- say it once, say it well, move on
- write so clearly that understanding takes zero effort from your reader
- treat Copywriting like something worth getting great at, because it is
