Another kuki village in Kamjong dist. was burnt down today by Manipur Nagas'.
Why Central & State security forces are no where to be seen whenever #Nagas' block NH / burnt villages, is this a power play of a Naga Dy. CM #Dikho or BJP's partner NPF.

Kangpokpi, June 30, 2026: — The Committee on Protection of Tribal Areas, Manipur – Kuki Hills (COPTAM-KH) has demanded that the Deputy Commissioner, Kangpokpi District, immediately initiate eviction proceedings against the alleged Chawangkening settlement from the officially demarcated boundary of Maohing Village.
COPTAM-KH said Maohing Village is a legally recognised hill village whose territorial boundaries were officially demarcated in Hill Misc. Case No. 40 of 1982 by the Sub-Deputy Collector, Sadar Hills West. The demarcation, confirmed after inviting objections from neighboring village chiefs, set the boundaries as:
- North: Gunbah (Branch of Imphal River)
- South: Kanggui River
- East: Imphal River
- West: Koubru Ching
The Committee also cited a December 3, 2003 judgment of the Gauhati High Court in W.P.(C) No. 1240 of 2003, which quashed the Government Notification dated November 14, 2002 recognising Chawangkening Village. The Court directed authorities to recommence the entire process in accordance with law after publishing proper boundary descriptions and inviting objections.
COPTAM-KH noted that the Deputy Commissioner, Manipur North District, by order dated July 25, 1983, formally recognised Shri Khupkai Haokip as the hereditary Chief of Maohing Village. The Committee said objections filed by the Chief of Maohing in December 2003 alleged that the proposed boundaries of Chawangkening overlapped substantial portions of Maohing Village and Harup Maohing Village.
Demands to District Administration
Citing “binding administrative and judicial records,” COPTAM-KH called upon the Kangpokpi District Administration to:
1. Immediately verify the demarcated boundaries of Maohing Village based on the 1982 case and other official records.
2. Implement the 2003 Gauhati High Court directions in letter and spirit.
3. Identify and evict all unauthorised occupants found within Maohing’s recognised boundary through due process of law.
4. Direct Revenue, Police, and Civil Authorities not to recognize, facilitate, or regularize any settlement, construction, mutation, or land transaction inconsistent with Maohing’s boundaries until the dispute is resolved.
5. Restore and safeguard the recognised territorial integrity and customary land rights of Maohing Village.
The Committee said the protection of tribal ancestral lands is a “constitutional, statutory and administrative obligation” and expects the administration to act “impartially and in accordance with the Constitution, applicable laws and judicial directives.”

🚨 NORTHEAST LIVE TV CAUGHT RED-HANDED ERASING KUKI-ZO HISTORY!
Your claim that A. Sharda Devi is “the first woman from Manipur to become a Member of Parliament” is a blatant, shameful lie.
The first woman elected to Parliament from Manipur is Kim Gangte, a proud Kuki-Zo woman from the Outer Manipur (ST) constituency in 1998 on a CPI ticket.
This is documented historical fact — not negotiable.
This is not an innocent mistake.
@NELiveTV has repeatedly distorted Kuki-Zo history and contributions to push a one-sided narrative that marginalises and erases our people.
By deliberately spreading this falsehood, you have insulted every Kuki-Zo woman, dishonoured Kim Gangte’s legacy, and attempted to steal our history from the record of this country.
The Kuki-Zo Women’s Forum – Delhi & NCR strongly and unequivocally condemns this false and misleading reporting.
We demand without delay:
✅ @NELiveTV must immediately issue a clear, prominent public clarification correcting this lie.
✅ @NELiveTV must issue a full, unconditional public apology to Kim Gangte, all Kuki-Zo women, and the entire Kuki-Zo community.
If @NELiveTV fails to do so swiftly, we will have no choice but to treat you as a Meitei propaganda outlet that chooses to spread lies rather than report facts.
The Kuki-Zo community will launch a complete boycott of @NELiveTV across all platforms and networks. You will be publicly named and shamed for your role in historical distortion and community erasure.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
Our history will not be stolen. Our women will not be erased. Our people will not be silenced.
Truth is not negotiable.

The killing of 6 Manipur Nagas was retaliation for the 3 Kuki church leaders and others. This is the cycle we are trapped in. Every war has retaliation, but justice cannot be done only on one side. When the narrative of victimhood belongs to one community alone, peace dies. We must face the truth that selective grief fuels this fire — every blood is red, not only Kuki blood.
The killing of Kuki civilians has been met with silence, and often justification. Church leaders and others were murdered, villages burned, and pregnant women and their husbands shot dead. Yet when retaliation comes, outrage is instant and total. If every life truly matters, then condemnation must be mutual. Manipur Naga groups must stop the attack and killing of Kuki innocents first. Peace is not demanding that one side disarm its anger while the other keeps firing.
If NSCN-IM, NSCN-EF, and ZUF-K are Naga warriors, let them face the Kuki army, not the civilians. There is no honor in torching a farmer’s home or killing a pastor at prayer. War between armed groups is tragedy. War on unarmed families is a crime. Those who claim to fight for their people must draw that line and defend it.
The Kuki people have buried too many to celebrate death. But when justice is denied for years, when FIRs are buried and leaders look away, retaliation becomes the only reply left. Still, where does it end? If the deaths of 3 Kuki pastors and others are answered with 6 Nagas, then 6 will be answered with 12. Revenge is not strategy. It is a spiral that will leave Manipur with no sons.
The only way forward is to see each other’s pain as equal. A Naga mother’s tears are no lighter than a Kuki mother’s. Blood is red on both sides. If we want the world to hear our suffering, we must stop inflicting it on each other’s civilians. Let the armed face the armed. Let leaders speak truth to their own. And let the killing of innocents stop now — before the next church leader or elder becomes another reason for war.

NorthEast Live’s Shameful Attempt to Erase Kuki-Zo History Must Be Corrected Immediately
The Kuki-Zo Women’s Forum – Delhi and NCR strongly and unequivocally condemns the false and misleading reporting by NorthEast Live claiming that A. Sharda Devi is the first female Member of Parliament from Manipur.
This is a blatant lie.
The first woman elected to the Parliament of India from Manipur is Kim Gangte, a Kuki-Zo woman, who was elected to the Lok Sabha from the Outer Manipur (ST) constituency in 1998 on a CPI ticket. This is a well-documented historical fact.
By deliberately spreading the falsehood that A. Sharda Devi is the “first female MP from Manipur,” NorthEast Live has insulted every Kuki-Zo woman, dishonoured the legacy of Kim Gangte, and attempted to erase our history from the record of this country.
This is not an innocent mistake. This is part of a continuing pattern of attempts by various organisations, media outlets, and political forces to rewrite history, suppress Kuki-Zo contributions, and push a one-sided narrative that seeks to marginalise and erase the Kuki-Zo people.
We will not tolerate this erasure.
We demand the following without delay:
1. NorthEast Live must immediately issue a clear, prominent public clarification correcting this false claim.
2. NorthEast Live must issue a full and unconditional public apology to Kim Gangte, to all Kuki-Zo women, and to the entire Kuki-Zo community for this deliberate attempt to erase our history.
If NorthEast Live fails to do so within the shortest possible time, the Kuki-Zo community will have no choice but to treat it as a Meitei propaganda outlet that has chosen to spread lies rather than report facts.
We will call for a complete boycott of NorthEast Live across all Kuki-Zo platforms and networks. You will be publicly named and shamed for your role in historical distortion and community erasure.

Kangpokpi, June 30, 2026:
The Committee on Protection of Tribal Areas, Manipur–Kuki Hills (COPTAM-KH) has raised concerns over alleged illegal settlements in the Namdilong, Kanglatongbi and Makhan areas, claiming that the locations fall within the historically recognized and judicially demarcated boundary of Saitu Village in Saitu Gamphazol Sub-Division, Kangpokpi District.
COPTAM-KH stated that Saitu Village is a government-recognized hill village and referred to the Manipur Gazette notification of 25 May 1951, along with the Judicial Adjudication of Village Boundaries under Manipur State Darbar, Hill Miscellaneous Case No. 469 of 1906–07, as the basis for its claim over the village boundary.
The organisation alleged that attempts to establish settlements, construct permanent structures and alter the demographic character of the area were being carried out without the consent of the hereditary Chief and Village Authority. It said such actions threaten customary land rights and may affect communal harmony and public order.
COPTAM-KH further stated that the area falls under the notified Hill Areas of Manipur and urged authorities to ensure that constitutional and legal protections relating to tribal land are upheld.
The committee has appealed to the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police, Kangpokpi, to take immediate action, including stopping further occupation, conducting field verification of the village boundary, removing alleged encroachments, and initiating legal proceedings against those found responsible.
COPTAM-KH reiterated that the customary territory of Saitu Chiefdom should not be treated as vacant land and called upon the government authorities to protect what it described as the constitutional rights and territorial integrity of the Scheduled Tribe inhabitants of the area.

WHERE ARE YOU, MANIPUR GOVERNMENT AND MANIPUR POLICE?
A video, reportedly recorded by the perpetrators themselves, has gone viral on social media. In the video, two men, believed to be Pangal or Nepali traders attempting to transport essential supplies, are seen being surrounded, physically assaulted, and verbally abused by individuals allegedly identified as Kacha Naga vigilantes at an illegal checkpoint.
The nature of the abuse appears brazen and overt, not subtle.
One statement in the video encapsulates the gravity of the situation in Kangpokpi at present:
"Will you guys do it again — transport goods? Who should we kill, if not people like you?"
These words were allegedly spoken openly on camera while civilians, whose only alleged offence was attempting to deliver supplies to a district facing shortages, were being physically assaulted.
As of now, the individuals at that checkpoint continue to remain there. No arrests have been reported. No summons have been issued. No accountability has been established.
Immediate action is demanded against Tangkhul NSCN-IM and their alleged associates ZUF-Kamson, UNC, TNL, FNCC, SDSA, NPO, and all their elected MLAs and Ministers for supporting and sponsoring this allegedly torturing, threatening, and ridiculing innocent, unarmed Pangal, Nepali, and Kuki-Zo communities.

Office of the Medical Department
Committee on Tribal Unity (CoTU), Kangpokpi – 795129
Dated: 28 June 2026 | Sadar Hills, Kangpokpi
The Medical Department, Committee on Tribal Unity (CoTU), strongly condemns the alleged stage-managed incident involving an unmarked vehicle carrying IMFL liquor purportedly displaying the signage of "CoTU Medical Team", intercepted at an unauthorized checkpoint at Namdilong–Kanglatongbi on 28 June 2026.
This incident comes in the backdrop of the 48-hour ultimatum issued on 27 June 2026 to the State Government and the Government of India regarding the continued blockade of essential food items and medical supplies along National Highway-2.
CoTU categorically rejects any attempt to tarnish the reputation of its Medical Team, which for the past three years has been providing medical assistance, facilitating emergency evacuations, and ensuring the transportation of critical patients for treatment outside the state. The Medical Department reiterates that it has never outsourced private vehicles for the transportation of medical supplies and possesses adequate ambulances, pickup trucks, and other official vehicles for its humanitarian services.
Accordingly, CoTU calls upon those responsible for obstructing essential supplies along NH-2 to refrain from communal narratives and demands clarification regarding the alleged misuse of the "CoTU Medical Team" signage within 24 hours of this publication.
