As you know, I was on a "Secret Mission" to the @CathCreators Conference at the end of May. If you didn't read my write-up last Sunday, please go back and give it a gander.

This week I want to present to you the video I produced from the conference. Obviously, I couldn't be at every talk or include every pearl of wisdom in this video (it's already half an hour long as it is), but I thought you might enjoy some highlights.

I am back from my secret mission. If you follow me on Instagram or watch @popculture_show , then you already know that I went to Steubenville for the @CathCreators Conference.

It was fantastic. Spending time with a bunch of Catholics and working through what it means to be an online Catholic who creates content.

I've wanted to go since year one, but I was dealing with probate issues, so I was unable to attend until now. I can say that after four days of Mass, talks, and camaraderie, I will be back. If for nothing else, then to see all of my dear friends again.

I had very little sleep throughout the conference, but it was well worth it. Mass every day at 8 AM, then all of the talks, and time spent offloading footage took up most of the day, but we could not end there. After the day's work was done, we did what all good Catholics do: first we pray, and then we party. We would go to the Harp and Habit every night and shut the pub down.

I will say my fondest memory of the conference did not occur during the conference, but at Chesterton's Cigars. All of us were having cigars and having conversations while Fr. Michael Sweeney, OP (A Dominican priest), draped in his habit, sat there smoking a pipe, taking in all that was going on, like a wise Gandalf amongst the Hobbits at Bilbo's 111th birthday. I could not help but think, "How blessed am I to be sitting at table with a regal Dominican priest, while having a conversation about spiritual warfare with a Byzantine and the @PapalNinja (Sean Brian)." It was like the smallest of tastes of what it could be like to sit at the Lord's Heavenly banquet.

On the last day, we attended Sunday Mass for the Solemnity of the Holy Trinity. After receiving the Eucharist, I went back to my pew, knelt down, and, overcome by the Holy Spirit, cried. The Mass coincided with my re-consecration to Our Lady, so I stayed a while longer to do the consecration and light a candle.

While on the plane home, listening to St. Francis de Sales' Treatises on the Love of God, I could not help but reflect on this experience and look ahead to next year. Then my mind (or the Holy Spirit) led me to an idea for a talk I would love to give at the fourth annual Catholic Creators Conference.

I do have photos from the conference on Instagram, and I'm working on a video that, if all goes to plan, will drop next Sunday.
