I once heard of a couple. Hmmm. Baby had jaundice. Whether they didn’t notice on time. Or they noticed and ignored. Or whether they knew and kept giving pawpaw water, I don’t know. But what I do know is that on the day of the naming ceremony (8th day usually).

The baby began acting unusual. Slept endlessly without feeding. Slept while they gave names. Name after name passed and the baby did not stir. The mother was concerned, but guests were already gathered.

It wasn’t until the baby let out a shrill blood curdling high pitched cry and bent and twisted itself in a convulsion as if manipulated by an external malevolent force that she realized that things simply were not as they out to be with the child.

Everyone who witnessed the event raised their voices in unanimous rebuke of the evil that was clearly trying to steal the joy of the parents. All except a nurse who happened to be the caterer at the event. She examined the child.
