1/🧵Human ClpP protease is targeted in cancer therapy with the activator ONC201 @chimerix Yet all structures of ClpP have captured it in its inactive state, even when bound to activators! ClpP is paradoxically activated by inhibitors at low concentrations before inhibition starts

4/4 The ability to form these cage ensembles may be relevant for capturing clients of very different sizes within the periplasm. @JustinDiTrani@LEK_Lab
Our new paper is out in PNAS. Here, we used an NMR method to measure de novo electrostatic potential developed by @IwaharaLab, and applied the method to the intrinsically disordered region of CAPRIN1, which phase separates upon the binding to ATP.

I am happy to announce that our new paper focusing on the dynamic interaction between human HtrA2 protease and a model protein substrate has been published!
Many thanks to @robharkness_ and @LEK_Lab.

MRIs and NMR machines require incredibly uniform magnetic fields, not varying in strength by more than a fraction of a part-per-million (equivalent to looking at the thickness of a piece of paper from a mile away!)
How can you possibly build magnets that accomplish this??
Our new paper has just been published in https://t.co/MkjohYxOsY
