honestly genuinely confused why any US Senator would have such loyalty to any country that is not the US. I have a fondness for Poland since it's where my family is from, but I'm not going to make decisions about my party membership primarily around who is nicer to Poland...
@HumanistReport Goddamn Mike, so glad you got out and now enjoy every day right to access any kind of education. It fucking sucks when people have authoritarian parents
@citrinowicz@ala Danny! Really appreciate your neutral, precise analysis about strategy and political end goals thru all this. I know you’re Israeli and it’s so fucking refreshing to hear the truth on TV these days
Continuing the same strategy while expecting a different outcome is not a strategy, it's a recipe for failure.
No matter how much pressure the administration applies, or how many new threats it issues, Iran's leadership is unlikely to capitulate. If President Trump continues expanding the target set, Tehran is likely to respond in kind, increasing the risk of a broader escalation rather than compelling concessions.
The regional picture also extends beyond Iran. Rising tensions between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia create additional opportunities for unexpected escalation that could further complicate the situation.
Iran's leadership is not opposed to negotiations, but it is highly unlikely to relinquish what it views as the strategic gains achieved during the conflict. From Tehran's perspective, what was not accomplished through 39 days of war will not be achieved through renewed military pressure alone.
Moreover, even if U.S. Central Command succeeds in degrading Iran's military capabilities around the Strait of Hormuz, the strategic reality remains unchanged: it takes only a single successful missile strike on a single tanker to disrupt global energy markets and trigger far-reaching economic consequences.

Well well....
This was entirely predictable.
The real question is whether officials in Washington genuinely misunderstand how Tehran thinks, or whether they are operating under assumptions that bear little resemblance to the realities in the Strait of Hormuz.
From Tehran's perspective, control over the Strait is not a bargaining chip, it is a core issue of sovereignty, deterrence, and strategic influence. That is why expecting Iran to simply relinquish its position there is unrealistic.

@jukan05 Jukan, stop fucking using captions. You are not a fucking telegram. People don’t need the emphasis. It hurts our eyes and we get pissed at you

🇪🇸 Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez to Donald Trump:
"Twenty-three years ago, the U.S. dragged us into Iraq over claims of weapons of mass destruction. None were found. You cannot fool us twice."
Mitt Romney:
I am not running for president in 2028.
The human brain shrinks by about 20% by the time you're 80 years of age. Twenty percent smaller—the size of the brain itself.
So I basically think people who are 80 and above really should not be running the world or running the country.
