John Terry on Argentina ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup semi-final against England.
🗣️ “I’m not buying the hype. Without Lionel Messi, this Argentina team is ordinary. Strip away the reputation and you’re looking at a side that doesn’t frighten anyone.”
“I honestly don’t think they stand a chance against England. Not one. England are faster, stronger, more athletic and have far more quality across the pitch.”
“People keep pretending this is still the Argentina that conquered the world. It isn’t. That team is gone. This one lives off old memories and a famous shirt.”
“Every time I watch them now, I ask myself where the elite level is. I don’t see dominance, I don’t see personality, and I certainly don’t see a team capable of intimidating top opposition. If that’s the best Argentina can offer without Messi, then England should have no excuses whatsoever.”
“If England play with any intensity at all, Argentina will spend the entire game chasing the ball. I don’t see them matching England physically or tactically for 90 minutes.”
“For me, this shouldn’t even be a close contest. England should expose them. If England fail to beat this Argentina side, it’ll be because they underperformed not because Argentina were exceptional.”
What happened today in the Argentina vs. England game was absolute madness.
Imagine a game full of fouls, with barely any football being played and almost no real chances. Then, out of nowhere, England scored a scrappy goal and completely shut the game down. Thomas Tuchel even brought on three defenders—Dan Burn, Chris Rigg O’Riley, and Ezri Konsa—to protect the lead.
But Tuchel clearly didn’t learn from the Egypt vs. Argentina game. He forgot he was facing Lionel Messi, the greatest player in football history.
As always, Scaloni made the decisive adjustment. He moved Messi out wide and introduced Lautaro Martínez and Nicolás González alongside Julián Álvarez in the box, with Alexis Mac Allister arriving from midfield. Messi simply started delivering cross after cross.
The result? Enzo Fernández scored a stunning equalizer in the 86th minute, and Lautaro Martínez completed the comeback in the 92nd—both goals assisted by Messi.
A truly historic comeback.
A fully deserved place in the World Cup final for Argentina, who will now play in back-to-back World Cup finals for the first time in their history.
And above all, it’s another deserved moment for the greatest player in football history, Lionel Messi. 💙
I saw someone post on here claiming that Ganguly’s only career highlight was waving his shirt at Lord's. This video is for anyone who needs a reminder of who actually transformed the Indian cricket team into the world-beaters we see today.

Why is there a pineapple on the Wimbledon trophy?
The original trophy, known as the "All England Lawn Tennis Championship Trophy," was a silver gilt cup with a unique design featuring a pineapple at its pinnacle. This choice likely reflected the trends of the time, as ornamental fruit motifs were popular in Victorian design.

Q: If India lose the ODI series as well, do you think the BCCI will sack Gautam Gambhir?
Ravi Shastri: "No, I don't think the BCCI will sack him because of political influence. In my opinion, he should have been sacked after the 2-0 Test series defeat against South Africa."🥺
"It's not good for the sport if outside influence affects such decisions. Sadly, no one seems to have the courage to sack Gambhir from the head coach position."😓
