The holy laundering and dishwashing.
If you do laundry in the home or wash the dishes, even if you break a plate, remember that these are considered part of the ovadah in the mikdash.

Today, 20th of Tevet, Rambam's yartzeit, remembering my 3 years of tweeting #1ChapterRambam. While I continue to study the Rambam cycle, I don't think I've ever learned, connected with or appreciated it quite the way I did when writing tweets on it each day.
I know I haven't tweeted #1ChapterRambam pretty much since that cycle ended (and keeping up daily tweets of #RashiToday has honestly been difficult these days) but something in today's #1ChapterRambam is taking place in my house tomorrow. Busy all day prepping!
Yom Kippur also is like one long day (and is called Rosh Hashana,) so, even though now Yom Kippur can never fall out rightfully before or after Shabbos, when it does, by the month being sanctified by the moon, Shabbos and Yom Kippur are considered one long day.

Toying with idea of coming back to a daily Torah study tweet as a did 2020-23 with #1ChapterRambam. Wife and kids very encouraging. It's a big undertaking, though.

Since it’s described that in the summer you should eat cold foods and the winter you should eat hot foods, It seems that when the Rambam says “spices” he refers to those that actually have heat and are “spicey.”
Who wants to eat some schug with the Rambam? 🌶 😉

“Good foods, like bread and meat.”

Just a reminder that Rambam holds meat to be “good food.”

@IlanBlock > Here's one example of a rich clarification by R Isser Zalman in a thread of #1ChapterRambam tweets on Laws of Loans: https://t.co/nfiDi3C1QQ and this word insight in Laws of Witnesses: https://t.co/lCjL6cVsCk
> Well, that didn't pan out the way I thought... & doesn't seem to resolve this #1ChapterRambam. But along the way I found a rich explanation quoted from R' Isser Zalman Meltzer (not sure if/where this is in Even HaAzel) that sees שנים as a set, pair, like twins a unified unit. >
@IlanBlock In my #1ChapterRambam 3 year journey of daily tweets, I didn't learn a lot of his "Even HaAzel" but I remembered enough from my yeshiva days to appreciate it, and a few times came across some of his rich Rambam commentary that I tried to express in a few tweets. >
One of the great sages I've come across a bit while browsing in backends of #1ChapterRambam is R' Ovadia Bartenura (of Italy, later Jerusalem) & his classic commentary on the Mishna. My grandfather, Zeide Piekarski like many others (esp of his time) loved to learn Mishnayos >
Looking back at my 3-year #1ChapterRambam daily study tweets challenge, sharing here in this thread below some takeaways & general overall lessons or discoveries (for specifics, see the 3 years of tweets) I found along the way. 🧵 >
> TBH though (as with much of my Twitter experience) I don't get a lot of engagement on here. Mostly my tweets, #1ChapterRambam included is for myself, thinking & expressing myself & my learning aloud & in public, to great personal benefit. If others benefit also, all the better!
> And more recently current @ualbany students like @floumanhaft @MarzoukNoah & others who followed along & learned daily #1ChapterRambam tidbits via Twitter with us. We also got random feedback from all types of people who've come across & enjoyed these Rambam tweets. >
After 3 years of #1ChapterRambam daily tweeting (its been a long run!) I'd like to share some takeways & insights from this challenge and experience as well as some appreciations, shoutouts and thank you's. First a thread of thank you's below (not in a specific order). >
One of #1ChapterRambam Kings 11 criteria of a presumed Moshiach is one who "compels all of Israel to go in the ways of Torah." Compel can mean force, which doesn't seem to be a messianic ideal, or it can be in the sense of compelling - drawn by an evocative irresistible force.
