The #IndianNavy conducted an interaction with the fishermen community of #Thiruvananthapuram residing at Shangumugham Beach on #27Aug 25 as part of #CoastalSecurity Awareness Campaign. The event conducted by NOIC(#Kerala)highlighted the crucial role of fishermen as the “Eyes and Ears at sea.” Key safety measures such as carrying lifebuoys, lifejackets, radios/phones, registration and marking of boats were emphasised to enable effective rescue Ops.
The campaign reflects Navy’s commitment to safeguarding lives at sea and engaging with the fishing populace to strengthen security of India’s #maritime borders.
The two day "Emerging Leaders Panel Discussion" under the aegis of #IONS was inaugurated by VAdm V Srinivas, #FOCINC #SNC on #27Aug 25.
Session 1 on "Strategic Importance of #IOR and Challenges being Faced: Perspective of Young Leaders" highlighted key issues on safeguarding IOR, maritime trade security, climate impact and geopolitical dynamics.
Officers from #India,#Seychelles, #Mozambique, #Maldives, #Iran, #Tanzania & #Indonesia participated in the discussions.
Session 2 saw representation from #India,#SouthAfrica,#France, #Australia & #Singapore on "Emerging Technologies in Martime Security". Key takeaways included emerging technologies in maritime reconnaissance, Al enabled systems, unmanned platforms, cyber threats, and space based surveillance in support of maritime security.
Reinforcing collective resolve to uphold a safe and secure #IndianOceanRegion.
The #IndianNavy is hosting the 'Emerging Leaders Panel Discussion' under the aegis of #IONS at @IN_HQSNC, #Kochi from 27 - 28 Aug 25.

Overnight Medical Evacuation of a critically ill 4 yr old child was undertaken by #IndianNavy Dornier from #Agatti Island, #Lakshadweep on #27Aug 25. On receipt of request from @UT_Lakshadweep, the aircraft was promptly launched from @IN_Garuda at 0120 h in challenging weather conditions. The patient was airlifted and brought to #Kochi at 0545 h. On arrival, the patient was shifted to a civil hospital for immediate neurosurgery management. Successful evacuation from Lakshadweep Islands has brought forth Navy's operational readiness and commitment to Nation - #anytimeanywhere

Sunday 27 August 1939, shortly before the outbreak of World War II in Europe, the German pilot Erich Warsitz made the first flight with the experimental aircraft Heinkel He 178 at the Heinkel's airfield in Rostock-Marienehe, northeastern Germany.

• The first flight of the Henkel He 178 marked a revolution in aircraft technology.
• For the first time, a purely turbo jet-powered aircraft had proven its ability to fly.
• The German pilot Erich Warsitz, test pilot at Heinkel Flugzeugwerke, was supposed to fly only one lap, but the test pilot from Heinkel-Flugzeugwerke didn't stick to this instruction.
• After Erich Warsitz had flown, almost without any problems, the at that time 32-year-old pilot made another circuit before landing.
• During this demonstration flight for the German Ministry of Aviation, the aircraft could only fly during a combat impractical time of 10 minutes.
• Nevertheless, the aircraft did reach nearly 375 mph (mile/hour) or 603.504 kph (kilometer/hour).
• The German Ministry of Aviation would reject the Heinkel He 178 as impractical.
